Release SuperZaxxon - Beta 5 released

I used sd-masstorage with beta 5 and after clicking on ok to go back to the desktop, the whole Pandora was frozen two times now.

The transfer itself works, it just freezes after clicking ok. Maybe a bug while remounting?

@ZXDunny, itami, stainy and ekianjo: Does your Pandora have 256 or 512MB RAM?

Sorry! Must have missed that, thanks :)

Will new firmware versions after beta5 come as packages to install "on top", or do we need to reflash?

Hmm ok.. I`ll try that.....but what are we accomplishing here? uae needs to be on it`s own sd card ? or just removing config files.. if so.. then why are we moving it to another card?

As you found out it's not necessary. So if anyone has sounds issues: just delete the old config-files in pandora/appdata/uae4all/conf/.

256MB, first edition.

Edit: Just tried the "delete the config" thing - still the same problem, only the Cyclone core works properly.

Just wanted to give some more feedback because I reported earlier that my Pandora froze after coming from suspend on beta5: after many many more suspend-> resume cycles I've done by now the one freeze I had is still the only one I had.

After a hard reset (pandora button + on-switch) because of a frozen Quake2 I noticed a date and time reset that I never ever had in all the 3 years I have my Pandora now. And I had to do a lot of those resets...

I enable usb-host. I insert my usb 3G stick. Nothing happens, but then, I run lsusb from a terminal (as root) and the machine hangs, everytime. This is with SZ 5a.

My usb 3G stick is a little-known Bandluxe C270 but still, lsusb shoud'nt hang a machine. Still works fine with 2.xx kernel. Not really an issue for me but other "sticks" could trigger this issue possibly.

I had a hardfreeze after loading a probably bad rom in gngeo.

After the hardreset, I got the messge, that it couldn't boot the kernel and I had to reflash.

This is probably not because of the new kernel or hotfix, but rather nand corruption by resetting. Just thought I'd mention it.

Corruption after a hard reset is always a possibility as the file systems are still mounted during the reset. I don't think anything much can be done about it except to minimise the number of hard resets by fixing other stuff. Normally fsck checks and corrects most bad stuff with a file system after a hard reset but if it is the / partition that is corrupted and it affects the boot up process than you're a bit out of luck. Maybe just re-writing the kernel image could potentially help but a full reflash is safer as there could be other hidden defects that can come up later.

edit: odd! my post displayed back to front. so if this is the first line then read the post bottom up.

ran this on the command line and bingo! wifi established.

modprobe board-omap3pandora-wifi 2> /dev/null

I read the wifi toggle script and then the start-up script and noted the line

lsusb shows the device and lsmod the module. there is no wlan devce in existance.

When I re-insert the dongle the wifi connection is not re-established.

Not seen a pattern yet as I tend to just pull it out whenever I need to pocket the Pandora.

I've had an occational issue with my external wifi dongle.

Don't know if that's a known problem:

I can't turn on Bluetooth using slaeshjaegs configbutton-Tool.

Pandora button>system>Toggle Bluetooth Status works well.

Here is some more detailed information of the crashing PCSX:

The games are running perfectly without overclocking.

After some random time they freeze and the emulator crashes without any reason.

The crashes occure using the High-Res GLES plugin.

They don't occure using the built in GPU.

They occure using the old Kernel and the new one (SZ 5a).

Spyro 2 also has those crashes. Spyro 2 never had those crashes before SZ 5a.

Hopefully it helps fixing those crashes.

Maybe it's because of the new 3D driver.

Known problem, I've pushed a fix to git.

OK. Great :)

If you want it to work *now*, you can always copy this to /usr/share/configbutton/ (iirc, you should see some other files in there) and relog.
