As much as it pains me to say, this is looking promising and awesome!
The only predicted problem I can see remaining is thermal; I think this one of the first cased system videos I've seen, and there's a suspicious cut after the first two games, so I wonder if they had to pause filming to let the system cool down, or to recharge an empty battery. Maybe I should check the phawx videos again, but I'm honestly a little unsure how much continuous filming I've seen so far.
Awesome times ahead of us.
Now, for some older FPS titles to impress us all.
I wish they'd enable the power icon so we can see the battery level. I think they've hidden it there, haven't they? And I wish they'd give up on the glance-away-and-you-miss-it dissolve fades. I'm not surprised they can't get all of that gameplay out of a single charge, but them doing all this amateur level PR shit over the top of it just makes me wonder what else they're hiding if I'm honest.
Average battery life for power hungry games (on low settings) is probably only half an hour, lol
A lot of German? in the vid.
Skip to 1:00 for the good bits (in English).
There's some PCB action as well
Just like what DJ Khaled says...
They'll be @e3 again, soon :/
I know this is digging up the old prototype and all - but I had to share. But, watch it with the English translated closed captioning. I have never seen a more hilarious 'translation'. It gets even better about half way through.
I don't like the form factor of the Smach Z, regardless of its hardware etc..
The hands holding the device look cramped and slow because of it's width and you will have to hold it pretty high or tilt your head down.
The GPD Win devices and their clamshell form work much better in that regard, as the screen is above the holding point of your hands and they are slimmer, because of the seperated screen.
Also, the placement of the buttons looks very unergonomic.
I 100% agree with you, mate
Smach is at E3 . A number of people have tweeted saying they used it hands on.
Here are a couple of vids released
6" screen size version?
Got any other videos? That youtube one claimed to be unavailable to me, and I've never tried to view dailymotion videos on this machine before and don't fancy trying it out now.
This thing is massive in size, btw...
EDIT: Also, please read the article below
This thing is huuuuge!
Well, you will get nice upper arms by playing on this thing.
E-Sports will get a completely new meaning
It's this gen's Atari Lynx!
Whoah. Put some wheels under it and you can use it as Skateboard!
It is big, but that pic makes it look a lot bigger than it actually is.
