How would you make a custom keyboard layout? I thought the caps were just clear plastic, and it was the actual mat that had the characters cut from the black layer to let the led light through
Sounds very promising. Are there any issues left now (or new issues found in dev prototypes), or we are set for mass production? Keeping fingers crossed
What ?! Without even a discussion first ?!
I missed this bit before, it's pretty cool !!
Keyboard thread!!!!
Well, you COULD put inlays in there to create your own keyboard layout, but then you lose the backlit keys
For what it's worth I asked ED about the cost of producing the keymat for the the Pyra. My understanding is that the MOQ for the keymats is 1000 units, and that would cost about 10000€.

Or cut up an existing keymat
I dropped my Pandora multiple times onto a carpet from the arm of an armchair. The worst that happened once was one of the shoulder buttons got slightly stuck in, but popping it out again was easy.Well, I thought the scenario was just a rapid unscheduled disassembly. We just don't know how likely that is when droped
No known hardware bugs currently left. Only software and case.
They were being damaged by the testing apparatus if I recall correctly.Did I miss the solution to some keys not working correctly? I think they were ; and ' keys in the bottom left.
Was that just a software issue? Where the diodes in backwards?
Keys: An issue where keys weren't working has been fixed by Nikolaus and is likely an issue caused by the testing equipment at Global Components
I think it's in the previous news thread by Wally. As I recall, diodes were being knocked off by the factory's probe tester.Did I miss the solution to some keys not working correctly? I think they were ; and ' keys in the bottom left.

azouls is still waiting for some new material which he thinks could be the solution to the discolorization we've seen in the plastics as well
It doesn't, as getting the remaining parts for MP takes longer than the casesIf this delays the delivery, I will gladly buy the discoloration. I'd rather have a device where you later, if it bothers you, change the case than delay it even further.

But you could also sell an alternative "blank" keyboard in which all glyphs are a solid white rectangle, so that anyone could
print a negative letter (solid black square except the letter) on a transparent sheet (anyone remember the presentation sheets before beamers), cut it and put it between key and keymat. Then people could have personalized backlit keyboards. But would have quite a lot of work and would
have to pay for a "blank" keyboard.

So, it would be a seriously expensive custom key

Can I suggest that the next update thread title be a mother trucker jojo reference?
