Release Mupen64Plus 2.2

I'll try post the run_out file when I get home from work tonight, but that won't be until after 10. The odd thing is is that it worked once, but didn't all the other times. Other than that this has been a really polished emulator so far, thanks as ever for all your hard work!

Hi

It is possible activate fullscreen on mupen ?

Lolo
Depend on the plugin.

For Rice (both version), use the Config launcher, select one of the Rice plugin and choose "Config". Search for [Video-General] and look for "AspecRatio" change "True" by "False".

Apologies in advance for the length of this post. Here's the pndrunout info...

Same error, unable to found libjepg...

I'll try something else. I'll test it on my pandora once unmounted codeblock (or on another pandora), and I'll upload on the repo once it work. Not tonight, but maybe tomorrow...

So, I digged the sources. Analog finetuning is already in the plugin :)

There are 2 parameter, the DeadZone and Peak. The DeadZone is the minimum value so a movement is registered, and the Peak is the Maximum value.

Value, are SDL based, so minimum is 0, max is 32768.

By default, values are

AnalogDeadzone = 0,0
AnalogPeak = 32768,32768

So if you want to be sure left/right doesn't slow down, you should lower the Peak, and put, for example 27000 instead, so it saturate faster... (there are 2 values, 1 for each axis: X and Y)
Fantastic! It works great now, no slowdowns whatsoever. Thank you!

New try at fixing the launcher...

Build 06

-----------

  • Corrected (2nd attempt) Launcher, quitting a game relaunch the launcher

Quitting back to the launcher works now. Thanks!

I have a problem with Paper Mario showing only a black screen with every plugin combination I tried. Is the following an indication that at least my retrode dump is correct? Should that work (on GHz uniit)? Would a newer SGX driver help (still using the default one)?

Core: Goodname: Paper Mario (E) (M4) [!]

Core: Name: PAPER MARIO

Core: Rom size: 16777216 bytes (or 16 Mb or 128 Megabits)

Paper Mario works for me. I use Glide plugin, all the other blinks. I haven't checked your CRC. Have you looked into Mupen database (it's in appdata/mupen64plus2/share/mupen64plus...)?

New build (again).

Build 07

-----------

  • Core fix for Perfect Dark. Doesn't freeze anymore (thanks to the mupen64plus-libretro team).
  • Change Frameskipping code for GLES2N64 (use old code). With the code fix, it's fluid with much less stall

Also, with GLES2N64 plugin, I'm able now to go ingame on Banjo Tooie. But it still crash at some places, more or less randomly.

I tried to mess a bit with the dynarec, but still no luck on DK64 or Doom64....

May be helpful if you look around here: http://www.paulscode.com/forum/index.php

We may have isolated where DK64 walks through walls and if this is true, it isn't in the assembly components :)

Edit: Does DK64 even boot for the pandora version?

I have looked, but I'm not 100% sure it's that. If you look at the new_dynarec.c (around line 5179, the function cjump_assemble(...)), you'll see that 64bits compare is already taken into account. I think it could be interesting to have a disassemble oc the N64 code around the offending BGTZ jump...

And on the Pandora, DK64 (and Doom64), I think there is an (silent?) assertion that make mupen to exit (look at the pnd_run, you'll see there is a abort and not a segmentation fault in thoses case). I will, one day, launch mupen on command line and not in PND to have full console output and see if the text help.

Perfect Dark still freezes in the same spot after upgrading to the new version on the repo.  Do I need to erase something in the appdata folder?

I do return to the emulator when I quit a game now though.

Still happens in the android version. Only fixed in the pc version apparently.

I downloaded, but its still laggy.  I tried changing the plugins, but no speed increase.  Even Mario 64 has lag.  I am on a CC Pandora overclocked to 900 MHz.  Is it a RAM issue?

^Odd for me Mario64 is very playable at 600mhz on my CC unit with the GLES2N64 video plugin with just a slight sound stutter.. at 800mhz makes it's smooth without any stutter..

There shouldn't be any memory limitations with n64 emulation with the Pandora even with 256MBs of ram.. The 1Ghz units benefit from a faster system/memory speed and more L1 cache. which can speed up games the First Batch and Rebirths have issues with..

@Kumaki: the issue with Notaz plugin not dlectable has been fixed in build 04. You should update your copy of Mupen64.
I thought I HAD the most up-to-date version, LOL

OK, I'll look and see.

Hey, is there a way to get rid of the extra icon...or make it show up in MENU only instead of cluttering your desktop?

Desktop space is precious, I want only the GAME/EMU on the Desktop...and config tools should be MENU ONLY.

Can you provide a savestate? Because I don't have freeze anymore. I use Rice (GLES2) Plugin and have the demo running fine and I can go ingame with no issue (just a few visual artefacts here and there).
