It's yummy. But you can't eat it!

Nice video, please keep tweaking Pyra till it be the best it can be.

@EvilDragon Is the SD card fully inserted? If yes, was it intentional to make it stand out like that? Do you take it out by pushing it?

Yes, it was fully inserted. We had to change the SD card slots shortly before we produced the PCBs as the old ones were out of production and didn't see that the news ones were a bit different physically.
That will be changed with the final boards, we'll simply move them back a bit.

Nice to see a first prototype of the Pyra ! Thank you for the video.

I've one question that bothers me : What's the situation of the clickable Nubs, are there only enough for the first units or do you got a new source for them ?

ED bought a little more than 10.000 of them before the end of production, so it's enough for 5.000 Pyras. After that, smaller nubs have to be used, which already have solder spots on the PCB. But even those are clickable.

Is it still possible to make the edges thiner and rounded like on the Original Nintendo DS (Which is exactly as thick as the Pandora but wider than the Pandora but still fits into my front pocket nicely BTW)?

Or how about only changing the Bottom Mould for minimum Thickness? Maybe as Stretch goal?

Good to know.

I was thinking that a nice addition would be to have a special way to get out sd cards. Something easy to do when you know how to do it but not easy if you don't know. Like the way you remove sim card on iphone but in preference something you don't need a tool to do. Thus your sd cards would be less exposed to various things. Theft for exemple, right now someone can easily steal your 400€ sd card and all your data whithout you noticing it before the next day or later.
I believe something which can be done at this stage of the developpement can be found.

the plastic molds which cost 10's of thousands of Euros are already made, changing them now would be costly.

I tried to share my excitement about this video with others last night. None of the people I tried to show it to cared. :(

That could work indeed... xD

But rounding the edges could make the Pyra even thicker (as adding material is easier than removing), so I'm not sure if thats a good idea.
Depends on how you do it. If there is some space left at the insides, the rounding could be more to that side. I see some mm space, not much but could be used (the battery limits that space of course).
Like that, just a little bit, but can make a difference:

As far as I understand it, the problems would be the molds. You can add material relatively easy by removing material from the molds. But if you want to to remove material from the case, you have to add something to the mold. If the need of ventilation slots may occur, you perhaps can solve that with some inlays, but just for a bigger rounding radius it probably will not be worth the extra hassle (and money), i think.

Maybe some kind of tools could be added on the unused side of the stylus
