I got mine a couple of weeks ago, Mk2, and I swear to GOD it did NOT have a screen protector on it. And now my GP2X has got in an argument with my phone in my pocket and got a light scratch right across the middle of the screen.
I think people are not understanding the meaning of what the "screen protector" really is. It is not the traditional screen protector you are thinking of. It os the ACTUAL screen that you see. It can be taken off and replaced. That is the screen protector that you had to put on in the first GP2X release. In other words, what you scratched IS your screen protector. $7 will replace that
I certainly don't understand now.
With the MK1's wasn't it a thin flimsy piece of plastic that people got seperate and had to attach ?
As previously mentioned in another thread (I believe by daveC) this was essentially a screen protector protector. i.e with the mk1 you got a sturdy plastic screen protector allready on the machine, plus a thin flimsy protector to attach yourself.
With the MK2s it just seems to be the sturdy plastic screen protector. There is no thin flimsy protector.
Furthermore - it doesn't appear that the sturdy plastic screen protector can be changed without opening up the machine (unless I am missing something).
I would have thought (but am probably wrong) that the thin flimsy protector, would be easier and cheaper to replace as and when required, rather than replacing the the sturdy plastic protector.
