Gpx2 Unvailed!!

I hope that A button isn't so close the the screen that you'll accidently get fingerprints on the screen when you use it. I hate how that happens on the PSP... Of course, that whole PSP gets so many freaking finger prints.

I know those wallpaper pics are mock-ups (pfft, how could the tiny font possibly be legible on a 320 x 240 display?), but I wonder why there appears to be an option to load videos from the NAND memory...

cause the linux base system will not fill up the whole 64MB and will be perhaps even only in the firmware space.. so the nand memory will be for files you want to keep on your GPX2 even if you change your SD card (like the best homebrew or some mp3/movies you often listen to/ watch)

I suspect Linux will fill it on mine and spill onto my SD's

I dunno because it's on the FAQ.

btw, they have confirmed the 64MB of RAM :)

As an aside, "will the D-Pad be analogue?" doesn't make any sense.

That D means directional, not digital.

Hi Ivan,
Thank you for your interest and support.
Yes, we will use 64MB RAM instead of 32MB RAM.

somewhere i heard that it will support SDIO.. so it would it be possible to put a wifi or bluetooth card in the sd slot and then use this card under linux?
======================================================================
When we talk about supporting SDIO,we support SDIO interface cards (ex SD LAN card,SD bluetooth,SD camera and so on,)
However Since we dont have program to be read now we only support SD card.but if many developers make it, it could be possible.

This is promising, isn't it? I've got a 256MB + Wi-Fi card sitting here next to me, and I hope one day I'll be able to use it. Then again, I think the drivers for it are very closed, and I've no success getting it to work on my Dad's Zaurus, so maybe I'll have to let that dream go.

hm i dont know.... they said they use a digital pad several times.... and now they say they use an analoge pad....

If it was analog it would be worthless for emulated games. I went through that on the Zodiac and it was horrible for games requiring precise and quick movement like shooters and Pac-man type stuff.

I don't think craig would let them screw that up, right Craig?

Q. Will the D-Pad be analogue?
A. Yes (Post 280)

  <_< :(

It's probably Digital as many people here have already said. Even so, if it were analogue, what's the big problem. It's great for games like Doom, or Quake. Also, you can get used to an analogue control in emulated games, I doubted this at first when I got my Zodiac, but it felt fine after a while.

Analog is sloppy for emulated games. Way too imprecise. I tried to play stuff like shooters and Pac-Man type stuff with an analog and it was far more difficult to control. Plus they go out of calibration and are more prone to breakage.
