Gpx2 Unvailed!!

It would be nice if the CPUs are overclockable to the same degree % wise that the current 133Mhz GP32s are or is 250 Mhz the upper limit.

I would be weary of overclocking, you got two CPU's occupying the same package, and that means heat, which is one of the biggest CPU killers!!!

I just had alook and ARM's website, and they are each a single core of one package.

So we got one package with 2 CPU's one of which is dedicated to the graphics engine.
So really we have 1 CPU and a 2D graphics chip?

I don't really understand.

Only 32 Meg of RAM? I guess NeoGeo is out too :(

Someone should get the cheap asses to put in 64 MB. I have to admit the specs are a bit underwhelming. 250 MHz? Some current GP32s go that high.

Also as Skeezix isn't going to be doing anything for it and may go to the DS (Not sure how he will like the small low res screens though) It is already getting the cold shoulder from some homebrew devs.

It should have had at least 400 MHz. Basically as is now it will basically just do the stuff we have now only a little smoother, and MAME worse in vertical mode.

Oh well, this one is a definate "wait and see"

The GPX2 to customer everybody to search a home page thanks it gives. The GPX2 eastern image and music (MP3), is the domestic initial memory type portable entertainment machinery and tools which is the possibility of doing the game back. The product when putting into the market with proper form until, the data which is various to customer everybody home page it leads and it provides and to sleep it does. Polyvalence in order to go to customer everybody at the price which is cheap to be endeavoring, until product come into the market new news home page to lead and to inform and and in order to give. Thank you.

Translated from the Korean site. Reinforces how cheap it is, again.

Somebody should ask them to up the processor speed to 400mhz each.
64 mb ram would be nice if it didn't cost much more.
Wifi is not that important to me.
Touch screen is not that important but would also be nice.
But then again maybe they mean for it to be cheap and cheerful.

"Dual CPU core, 2d Hardware, Linux OS, 8 buttons, Digital control, full media support, SD card support, 32M+64M internal memory, open source, numerous emulators, Price to be lower than current GP32!"

specs from GBAX...

32+64=96 M internal memory :D

Is the screen backlit?
The site doesn't seem to say. I'd hate to think it would be as dark as my Nlu

this might be dumb, but why is neo geo out if the psp can run neo geo cd with 32mb of ram.

And GBAX has a pre order thing, but i don't want to pre order something and not know the cost, anybod know exactly how much this thing will cost yet?

700MB? are you sure.. thought the biggest were arround 100MB or so...
hmm the biggest rom i know are for mame.. the HDD games, but those arent really roms anymore :)

not entirely sure why devs would dislike it. Even if you only use the regular core, it's still 250mhz which would make it pack 50% more punch than the GP32. If you use the 2d graphics core to handle 2d transformation (surely some of it's functions would be more that a little benefit to helping emulate PS1/N64) you would vastly improve it's ability to handle higher level emulation such as CPS2 and system 16.

I don't think so, looking thru the gallery there doesn't seems to be a brightness button on the console, but maybe they use a button-combination to change to brightness of the backlight.

i don't know why some people are so full of doom and gloom, just hours after the console has been announced. If it's not the design, it's the processors. For gods sake, let's give it a bloody chance!!!!!

Davec, you worry far too much! This console will be bloody fabulous.

I for one have already preordered mine and can't wait till i receive it!!

Can we have GBA emulation now ?

That would be cool, also:
-neogeo-pocket (color)
-Sega 32X (or even Saturn, but I doubt it)
-PS1
-Duke Nukem 3D !

looks like I have to get a job (again).
