do you go through USB link, the one next to the power cable? or via the EXT Port?

i can't wait until the new version gets released!!

Zodttd, I noticed that amongst some games I tried, Oddworld Abe's Odyssey is the one close to fullspeed, and the dynarec might give it the boost it needs to run fine! but lack of sound and graphical corruption make it barely playable... do you think those graphics problems can be easily solved? if you succeed in activating sound, it might be one of the first 100% playable game :)

That's music to my ears dude, this game (Abe's), broken sword 1 & 2 and parasite eve 1 are the three titles am most looking forward to.

Ziiiiiiii :D

There was a bug in the version I sent X-Code. It seems specific to the GP2X, as the bug didnt occur on the Gizmondo. I'm working on fixing it asap since otherwise a lot of games don't boot past the BIOS. Seems to be a stupid interrupt timing issue though, which is weird since games work on the Giz. Also for some reason the GP2X wasn't performing as it should. It might be tied into the issue just mentioned though. It'll get solved, might just take a revision or two more depending.

Since I'm coding "blind" for the GP2X things take a bit more time, but next week it should really speed up since I will have a new GP2X to work with.

Btw, on average, how much memory can be allocated by a GP2X program before crossing over to the "slow" 32MB of memory? I was thinking I might of allocated too much memory for the translation cache for the dynarec, and it is using slow accessed memory. The MMU code could help in this case. :)

* Wonders what Chrono cross is but decides to add it to the testing list

As Mr.zodttd has said, there is a bug, something is crashing many games ( or at least not letting them load correctly ).

I'm sure that it'll get sorted B)

Chrono Cross is a kind of sequal (not really) to Chrono Trigger. I believe it starts with what happens in Radical Dreamers, another textual sequal for Chrono Trigger for snes. (IIRC)

so what's happening? I thought this topic would be more active B)

GP2X lacks a few 3D games ;)

@X-Code

set TechnoMage on your list please !! ;)
it do not run on the actual open beta for me.

Thank you!! :D

i'm sure this is just the lull before the storm. i'm walking past cheap game shops and thinking that 20 PSX games, at a buck a piece, may just be a nice friday night ..

You guys should check out a program called PocketISO. It will scan through your PSX ISO and remove all the music/movies.

I can get most games under 100mb this way and it does work with Psx4GP2X.

 since version 0.1!!

the advantage of samba and usb connection is: you dont waste your time by copy your iso (smal or not) on your sd-card. you leave it at your PC!! ;)

Kind of defeats the idea of a portable system that way.

Yes, but we are after all talking about testing the emulator, and Samba is the most convenient way to do it B).

@ Nr.56 I'll add TechnoMage to my list :)

@ torpor... At that price they are worth getting regardless the state of the emulator lol.

At everyone else in general, the emulator works but is not in a very fit state, I haven't received the fixed version yet either, it's why I'm not posting any 'new' news... Considering the fact that Mr.zodttd didn't even have a working GP2X makes it quite an achievment to say the least lol...

As soon as there is news / test info of the fixed version it'll get posted.
