Gpx2 Unvailed!!

Do I dream?

Looks nice but Ive just forked out on a psp and to be honest it look like a gp32 repacked. Not enough there to warrant another £150, if this had been upgraded enough to make my jaws drop, there's no doubt like that chap said earlier my bank account would have felt more pain. I do however like it as it has been solely targeted as a movie/mp3 player with a couple of etcs to keep the enthusast happy. I hope it does well because the movie/mp3 market has not been solely dominated and is still very wide open, It only took apple to bring out a decent mp3 player to make a killing (loads of peops brought it) but what we need now is the VIDEO aspect of that player. They have however let themselfs down without a hugh hardrive. A 20/40 gig drive would have shifted and swayed a few more people (maybe me) to part with the cash. Big chance to pick up on the major flaw of gp32 (capasity) missed (shame)

Hope it does well, I wish it luck, bring on the next, my jaw still firmly in place

CAN NO ONE SEE THE TWO VOLUME BUTTONS BELOW THE JOYPAD ?.

Cough!, Sorry for shouting. :D

Trooper
Yeah, they are used for volume. Do you have a point?

And that volume control, ick. I prefer a regular old knob that you can quickly turn up/down. Those button ones kind of suck... tap tap tap...tap tap tap.. this button style also eliminates fine in-between sound setting as it in steps, stupid.
You do know this "in between" sounds shit is just an illusion right? You can't be any more accurate with a twisty thing than two buttons.

It looks nice. Very nice even but if all it does is what the GP32 can do but a little better then it will ultimately not live up to the potential it could have had.

I personally feel for any new GP to do really well it needs to be able to do all the GP32 can do and more. Not just the same but better.

For example will it be able to manage N64 and PSX emulation. If the answer is yes then it will be a major hit if the answer is no then even though most of us will probably get one it will still ultimately have failed to be what it could have been by being able to emulate the next generation of consoles up from the Genesis and SNES.

EDIT: PS1 not psp hehe.

A 20/40 gig MP3 player costs in excess of £150 with a small black and white screen and no other features. The idea of this is to keep the cost down.

Besides, SD has a current capability of 2GB, with larger cards on the way.

hmm i dont think this console is the right thing for you then...
hey for n64 you need a good pc with atleast 500Mhz and good 3D card to play the not so good looking games... i dont want to buy a thing which costs arround 600€.
And PSP emulation is just crazy, this thing is arround 300Mhz fast and has 3D accelerator. PCs emus are still in dev and wont be fullspeed for a while.

if this thing has 2x ~250mhz cpus and a 2d accelerator then im happy enough. all 16bit system should be possible + perhaps PS1 and GBA. Amiga will be possible. NeoGeo! and perhaps 286/386 emulation.
cant wait to buy this system... now i have to collect money ;)

Say, would 2x250 actually be more powerfull than single 500 in some situation? Dual processing and all that, no need to wait for the other CPU to finish the job it is doing to start somethng else?

Edit: Not PSX, PSX! :p There's a bloody difference. In the pronounciation. :)

Zathras... Zaaathras...
