WIP Report: No known hardware issues, 30 days of uptime

I expect he'd have posted if they had arrived, and lacking that post at this late date is what concerns me.

With "problem" I reffer to that greek company that made another "problems" in the past, not about Ed.

Problem is that we're in the lead up to Christmas, and I'm sure ED is having to work loads extra right now...

With full steam into the new year.

Right after the production of the transparent cases has happened, the molds will move to the new company so they can produce the cases used for the normal mass production.

Can you believe it...? The case might finally be finished :)

No, i can't belive that it take more than a year to produce 500 cases. This is simply unbelivable. I don't know what can cause such tramendous delays. There has to be some dark force that drives this project wrong.

Just startet to fill on of the 400gb Cards yesterday, i had to edit the file system to ntfc as xt4 ditnt seem to work (the card wasnt wridable and XFAT wasnt supportet from the UBUNTU on my Thinkpad,

Is it true that a SD Card, that work on the Pandora, also work on the Pyra ?? , and why dit Audicius on my Pandora ditnt play the MP3, but ditnt had issues whit C64 "Roms" files?? My Pandora is quite strange: Left Nub didnt work, but its reads a 400 gb SD Card..

It can't play an mp3 but can play C64 games from SD? Mp3 is still a streaming format, so there's tighter bounds on the latency of getting new data points than there is loading something effectively offline like a C64 rom, so that may be the difference. A few slightly bigger buffers would help with mp3 playback, but somethings still a bit weird if you can't play mp3s with the Pandora buffers; my 64GB Sandisk cards worked fine for mp3 playback on my Pandora.

Try trying 'dmesg' in a terminal after playing an mp3. Maybe there are caching errors in there or something. Also probably worth trying different players; I used to use deadbeef on my Pandora

The previous company was lazy as heck. They would shut the whole company down to go on vacation for the entire month of August even. But they were apparently the only company ED could get to make the molds. Now they're at a new company that doesn't make molds, but does do the injection, so there should be no more delays with the case.

Even big old multinational phone companies that were headquartered in northern europe basically got no work done because everyone was on holiday in August. I don't think they actually locked up, but they had thousands of employees so I guess some of them worked that month; but as it turned out none of the engineers we were working with were there then. It doesn't surprise me Greece is doing the same.

I'm not sure if this new place can't make moulds. Maybe they weren't set up back in the olden days when this project started, or maybe their advertising just wasn't good enough back then. I think they can at least modify moulds, and if they can do that I'd tend to assume they can make them from scratch, because doing that is just a lot of mould modification.

It’s was only a test if the Pandora can work with this SD Card, I don’t want to use my Pandora for this Purpose, it’s too old and i want to use the Pyra for this..
And it’s to bring my whole MP3 files on one Place..

On the Pandora, it’s works whit the MP3, but whit VLC, not with the other program ..

Still nothing to say about the cases? That's strange.
I realize ED is busy this time of year. When he wrote the last message I was under the interpretation that the cases were overdue for arrival. It isn't super pressing, but I'm probably not the only one who is curious what happened to them.

Wasn't a set of Pandora cases crushed by a forklift along the way? I seem to recall something along those lines.

My favorite program for playing MP3 files on the Pandora was Audacious - using the WinAmp style interface. Very simple and zxcvb buttons controlled playback.

@Silent-Hunter: shutting down manufacturing firms and factories in hot-Mediterranean countries in July or August, isn't unheard of. Seems weird to me as I come from the UK, but since moving to Denmark, where almost nothing gets done in the summer when people have 3 to 4 weeks off for their holidays, it doesn't seem so weird anymore...

Oh so that is a thing then? I thought it was, but then I thought someone said just this one company was doing it. I guess I was right the first time then!

No the Moulds will be moved to the second greek company, or they are allready,
the Second Company is more like "Global Components compared to Circuit Co", and they allready worked together whit EvilDragon for Moulding Cases for Homebrew SNES Games,
Moving the Moulds to germany dosnt make sense, as Moulding Plastik is a bit more complexe..
