Back from Greece

I like that shade of yellow.
Light colors like that and the above baby blue look great - in a display case - where nobody can touch them. If used, they would show dings, grime, wear-in-polish, etc. So, if there is a significant population who all want the same color of trophy Pyra... You would just need to find 499 other people that agree... people here agreeing... oh, nevermind.

The reality is that if the Pyra is going to be a device to get -used-, then the most reasonable production colors are going to be dark and very dark to nearly black (most shades of black). The red renders used on the forum page headlines above are on the brightest edge of -usable- for a device meant to be used.

And it still looks like we are going to kinda agree only on black (or maybe dark grey, please) and dark red. Maybe once they get in our hands we will see a rise in interest in the Pyra, and other colors might get more requests.

I find today a great day to post that yellow render, "y ahí lo dejo".

If this shade of yellow was offered I would prefer it, else I would pick that other red and back render, or all black, or very dark grey.

But I don't pretend my taste is significant enough to warrant consideration. If I was in charge of deciding the color for everyone I'd probably pick some shade of black.

I dislike the blue and mint color. I wonder how the same mint would look on yellow, but not enough to mess with gimp.

I agree that renders may not be very practical or realistic way of assessing color.

No news today, our dragon's gone away
The old thread still abides, a symbol of the ides
No news today, it seems a common sight
But people passing by don't know the reason why

The optimist says ED's next news post will be a video of the assembly of a clear cased Pyra being constructed to ship to a prototype pre-pre-purchaser.

The cynic says ED's next news post will be something to the effect of the cases weren't done before the entire country of Greece went on vacation for the month of August and how the molds can't move until after 500 cases are produced which cannot happen until November as the original case company is backlogged ...

This made my heart skip a beat.

Im surprised that I like blue/mint so much. Why does that work?

I honestly have no idea. For me it was simply a proof that it would work, taking the colour layers erico supplied and changing
their colour temperatures. I landed on a combination that seemed pleasant enough to me, but it wasn't intended to be a proper
suggestion for colouring. Indeed, I think personally I'd prefer something darker myself.

I saw the thumb and winced cause it looked really jarring, but when you open it up and look at it full scale it seems kind of pleasant in an odd way. The mint and blue makes me think of toothpaste or something.
