Holidays are over!

Pure Porndora :)
I watched the Video twoo Times, and it was pretty interesting

I want also a Transparent Pyra
Its looks super awesome in darkness
I think i would preffer the rubber Dpad because its Black collor fits perfektly to the Black Keymat and i ditnt like it too be clued to the Keymat..

I'm really astonished how robust the case and the electronic looks! Great work! This is really an interesting video.

Not too keen on the idea of a rubber d-pad myself - I've only ever found those on cheap knock-off controllers, and they have a habit of slowly producing small bits of rolled rubber lint which can clog up almost anywhere. My Pandora's d-pad has yet to fall off, and can simply be reglued if need be, so that works for me.

I see the light O_O

Something is telling me to follow it

Really good looking matching parts, I feel like I can dis/assemble it with less fear than with the Pandora

I had an LEDgasm.
What's the "L" for? :p

WOW, the bleeding through of the light wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would have been with the clear case.
For me it's the opposite. Especially the intensity of those two spots on the left seems pretty distracting to me.
I must say though, that I like the slight glow around the nubs. It might help in finding them in the dark. I believe I'd like to have transparent inlays around the nubs and the d-pad on an otherwise opaque case.

"Basically, we're almost done"
I have never heard more beautiful words spoken by anyone.
"basically" and "almost" - that's two relativizations in one sentence, which almost sometimes nearly rings my alarm bell, sort of. ;)

I'm mostly impressed by the (mis)treatment the device receives from ED during the assembly process. I'm sure ED knows what he's doing, but after seeing that I'm almost willing to pay extra for him to take more time on my device's assembly.

I'm also not too keen on that rubber d-pad. I'm mainly concerned that it would pick up lots of goo over time. And it might be tedious to clean it, since following Murphy's law most of it would wander inside the case.
I get that the probably added grip over a plastic d-pad might be desirable for gamers, but since I'm not interested in gaming, I'd prefer a plastic one - especially because I have the totally unfounded believe, that the click behavior of a hard plastic pad might come close to the tactile feeling of a mechanical keyboard, where as a rubber pad might be closer to a rubber dome keyboard. (I know there's a rubber keymat underneath it anyway, but with a plastic pad at least it would only be one layer of rubber instead of two).

Should see some of his Pandora videos.

Great video and thx for upload it. Cant wait to have this awsome device in my hands. <3

I really enjoyed that video. That's awesome! Thanks!

I do have a few comments about the possibility of a rubber d-pad... in my experience, after rubber gets enough finger oil on it, it usually tends to deteriorate. Which leaves black smudging on the fingers. And rubber tends to get kind of sticky once it gets old, which is gross. Maybe they've improved the rubber these days so it doesn't do that? Anyways, to address that concern, would it be possible to add plastic caps over the d-pad like the keyboard has? I think that would probably fix it. If that's not an option, then I'd vote for the plastic d-pad, which I think would be more durable in the long-term anyways.

Having experience with many kinds of gamepads in my days, I'm against the rubber d-pad as well - a rubber/plastic combination might work but I guess it would age as well.

I'd also like to have a plastic d-pad, not a rubber one. Had mostly bad experiences with rubber d-pads, but all about their flaws is already said by others, so I won't go into detail.

I would like to know if the sealed speakers are glued in there or if the sealing rubber can be removed with the speakers themselves as easily as shown in the video. As ED stated before somewhere, the sealing rubber is necessary for the speakers to work and they may be damaged without it, so maybe glueing them in there could be better than an inexperienced user disassembling the unit and damaging the speakers by forgetting the sealing.

I loved every second of that. It looks like a superior device in every tangible way. Only wish I'd preordered at the beginning :-/

I also want to vote against rubber dpads please. I've never had hard rubber electronics touch points NOT eventually goop up or wear down. It's not a good look, and for a device like the Pyra, the pad is the second most important bridge to its soul (behind the screen and just ahead of the nubs). Would be a bummer if everything wears well with time but then the rubber dpad is flaking and disintegrating.

Plastic, please!

Hi!,

Will the final revision have the ability to change the color temp of the backlight LEDs?. I know that I use an app that uses a red filter to reduce the color temp of my phone's LED screen.

Watching the (hell yeah!) video got me thinking... bright, blue-tinted LEDs would absolutely suck! Ahhh!

Brightness is adjustable, but they're just white LEDs.

I don't see any boring in this video. All the screw holes seem to be in place already. Rather disappointing, would not watch again.
banned for this pun.

Feasibly replaceable or ?
If you were good with soldering something extremely small as these surface mount LEDs, you could replace it with a different color as long as they were equivalent size and had a similar electrical requirements. RGB LEDs have more pads to drive each color individually so it won't work.
