PGS Windows 10 gaming handheld - GPD WIN competitor

Look at the comments section of their KS page, everything said here has been said there countless times. Yet people still back it. Negative comments there are overwhelming. yet people still back it.
I think most people there know there are red flags and this is extremely risky. Yet they continue to back it. What can you say, hopefully PGS have an investor to bail them out.

As long as it's Cheap Enough, People seem to believe in it (or they are Dumb and think KS will give them their Money Back if it Fails).

Well, the PGS CEO has just made some responses to backers questions. He seems to have answered a few questions that I had been wondering on.

Lola Kochetkova is indeed a part of our team and an official manager of PGS LAB LLC. It was her who helped us creating LLC and bank account, and also in registering the American patent for invention. The reason why the Kickstarter campaign was started on behalf of her is that only a US resident can start a campaign. To my deepest regret I am not a US resident, so the campaign couldn't be started on my behalf. As for doubting about whether or not Lola permitted to use her data to register - the data couldn't be used without her notice since Kickstarter obligates to enter an individual tax number. And only after validating it, KS gives permission to register.
@Gov
Closer to the end of the campaign, after acquiring some feedback and deciding about some minimal changes in device design, we will present the upgraded concept.
The D-Pad, similar to that of Xbox, and other changes will be shown in the concept.
The Amoled is officially confirmed for the Hardcore version. It was our mistake that Amoled was accidentally thrown to The Goals, we are sorry for that. As for overclocking, we will surely release the utility to fine tune the CPU/GPU performance.
There are quite many features that we have access to. We will also try implementing the opportunity to overclock the main components. We do not promise, but we will do as much as possible.
@david craig
Those users who don't want the E-Ink in their PGS Hardcore will get the version with regular optional display.

PGS - Portable Gaming System. PGS Lab - Portable Gaming Solutions Lab.
@alexander Chernyshev
Our company is registered in Detroit. One of the Kickstarter requirements is to be a company officially registered in the USA (or some other countries in Europe). Without having a company in the USA we simply couldn't start the Kickstarter campaign.
If you have doubts about my professional skills, you may personally ask me questions throughceo@pgslab.com.
@Bryan U-Vin
We are not a big but a talented team. Alan is also a great designer. Although I am a CEO, there are much more responsibilities on me than one may suppose. I personally play a large role in engineering and graphical sides of the project.
@Michael Mrozek
I also take a significant part in engineering and a main part in case design. We are not a big team but each does the job according to the skills.
@david craig
In the video, along with the team key members there are people who help us to different extent, but they are not the key members. Assuming that the project is funded from own funds I didn't intended to build a large staff.
@Argohrn
We are planning to implement the regular set of sensors that most Android smartphones use.
@stephen Sprites
The main goal that we have to achieve by the end of the campaign is finishing the more complex, improved prototype and showing it in the new video.
@Pablo Emilio Acevedo Díaz
We'll try to demonstrate the updated prototype version starting from the moment of device power on and all the following stages.
@Michael Mrozek (OpenPandora GmbH)
Thank you for your advice. My experience as a portable devices engineer is really not as extensive as that of Pandora team, but we truly realize that expenses may exceed the revenue from Kickstarter. We are ready for that.
@Jean-paul Joseph
Z8750 also perfectly works with Windows 8.1.
@Luke Palmgren
We are planning to develop separate device versions, one supporting European networks, and one for the US networks.
@Zlipher
The input elements of the PGS will work through Xinput. You will be able to use any software to remap the keys functioning.
@Zlipher
The finished device pack will include the adapter from USB-C to the full-sized USB.
You will be able to plug any peripheral directly or even through a USB hub. We are planning to implement a replaceable battery in PGS Hardcore.
@Horace Cheng
Maybe I was really too excessive in my previous post, but I said what I'm really thinking. We are not a large team, but we are trying hard and we'll keep doing everything possible for you. We listen and consider your advices, thank you.
@Justin
Thanks for advices.
@Ong TH
The question of PGS Hardcore memory is in consideration now. We are researching this question, thank you.
@Gov
z8750 produces about 2 watts of heat under the load. The most Windows-based tablets with Cherry Trail processors do not include any heat removal radiators. In our case there will be a tiny radiator connected to the case. Do not worry about heat problem, we will prevent it in either version of PGS, including the titanium one.
@Nofear2plus
I'm afraid we will not show you something brand new right now and today, but we are trying hard to do it by the end of the campaign.
@Qing Fang
Sure
@Erosquare
As I mentioned earlier, we came to Kickstarter in order to be less dependent on investors. In order to create a device which we really expect it to be and to show it to you.
Thank you for advices, we'll take it into account.
@Opium Pulses
Thanks for your advice. I'll consider your opinion.

heh... Perhaps it may be worth asking them how they intend to make a profit if they know they'll be selling the hardware below cost.

Those users who don't want the E-Ink in their PGS Hardcore will get the version with regular optional display.

We are planning to develop separate device versions, one supporting European networks, and one for the US networks.

So there will be a minimum of eight different "hardcore" configurations - titanium/regular case, US/EU 4G, e-ink/LCD display. The case and modem would be relatively easy to swap, but I'm pretty sure e-ink and LCD displays have completely different interfaces. Do they plan on doing two separate versions of the PCB, or do they think they can cram both interfaces and support components into one board? E-ink is still new and rare enough that it seems highly unlikely that they'd even be able to find a appropriately-sized color panel on the shelf, and would have to get it specially made.

The KS is registered to Lola Kochetkova - part of our team / official manager of PGS LAB LLC.

If nadir isn't a US resident, that must mean the Detroit llc company is also registered to Lola.

Nadir claims to be the "CEO", would that be of the limited liability shell company in Detroit? Is the LLC a daughter-company?
If not, this is a one stop dead-structure operation.

A person without technical skill, with a LLC company and a bank account, funding a russian company with zero legal ties.

Can we find any evidence of a patent application? Maybe we can see how the magical hinge works.

Has anyone besides Lola and Nadir been found to be real people? And has any of them confirmed they are doing a KS campaign?

Episode 5 of this ordeal really put the writing on the wall.

Wait a minute, if the KS campaign is registered to Lola and PGS LAB LLC, does that mean that the money from the campaign would be deposited on her (or PGS LAB LLC which she controls) bank account? Oh boy... o_O

Yeah, some of this sounds familiar. Oh well.

Edit: Actually, it sounds like you were looking at it differently than I am. I am remembering a project this community is familiar with that didn't turn out so well for anyone involved.

I was thinking of that 3D printer project where the funds were deposited to a personal account of a member and then the funds went puff for various reasons.

lol i just googled lola and now i also got the crime boss joke. omg. this is so funny. then again, who knows how common the last name is in russia, it's just such a huge country. now someone needs to crash a ferrari.
[doublepost=1468014540,1468014433][/doublepost]apparently she dances for the bolshoi aswell. quite remarkable. let's see who can identify her on stage first. I am actually starting to think that ED should hire her for a pyra promotional tour.

It's the same person, see here: http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2003-05-30/news/0305300348_1_figure-skating-extradition-russian

"And I hope it will help him. I tell him it will end well. Because if you think it will be, it will be. You know, ideas can become reality."

Looks like she had the PGSLab mentality even back then.

So someone posted these Cherrytrail tablet which seem very cheap, hmmm, PGS perhaps then possible for the funds they are raising. I'm still skeptical, but I suppose there is a possibility

I dunno, these and other cheap Windows tablets have very little in common with PGS.. pretty much every component there is going to be significantly cheaper including the SoC which is barely half the cost as x7-Z8750. There are so many factors that would push up their price in comparison.

I also don't think heavily (and possibly temporarily) slashed prices tell the whole story.

What do I think is PGSLab themselves are closely looking at pricing for these Chinese tablets, many of which they've torn up to use as proof of concept, and basing their pricing around this. I doubt they're based on actual quotes from suppliers.

those are Z8300 not Z8750. The price difference is not very large according to Intel but those tablets don't have a lot of what they claim will be in the PGS.

Yeah I know its a z8300 thats $20 cheaper than a z8700, but its also $90 inc delivery tablet at retail. But yes, I agree on the extras in the PGS, I guess we wont know what those extras cost.

By the way, people seem to be looking at the wrong person in the PGS team, you should be looking up the only person that matters -> Sergei kirimov.

I cannot find a single thing on him. In fact google says there is only one person in the world with that precise name, and it aint him. But my search skills are not the best, so I challenge everyone else to the challenge of finding him. Maybe he goes by the russian translation of his name or something - don't know. But if he has worked on a 3D printer, quadrocopter , then he should be findable
