PGS Windows 10 gaming handheld - GPD WIN competitor

@Michael Mrozek (OpenPandora GmbH)
Thank you for your advice. My experience as a portable devices engineer is really not as extensive as that of Pandora team, but we truly realize that expenses may exceed the revenue from Kickstarter. We are ready for that.
heh... Perhaps it may be worth asking them how they intend to make a profit if they know they'll be selling the hardware below cost.

Those users who don't want the E-Ink in their PGS Hardcore will get the version with regular optional display.

We are planning to develop separate device versions, one supporting European networks, and one for the US networks.

So there will be a minimum of eight different "hardcore" configurations - titanium/regular case, US/EU 4G, e-ink/LCD display. The case and modem would be relatively easy to swap, but I'm pretty sure e-ink and LCD displays have completely different interfaces. Do they plan on doing two separate versions of the PCB, or do they think they can cram both interfaces and support components into one board? E-ink is still new and rare enough that it seems highly unlikely that they'd even be able to find a appropriately-sized color panel on the shelf, and would have to get it specially made.

The KS is registered to Lola Kochetkova - part of our team / official manager of PGS LAB LLC.

If nadir isn't a US resident, that must mean the Detroit llc company is also registered to Lola.

Nadir claims to be the "CEO", would that be of the limited liability shell company in Detroit? Is the LLC a daughter-company?
If not, this is a one stop dead-structure operation.

A person without technical skill, with a LLC company and a bank account, funding a russian company with zero legal ties.

Can we find any evidence of a patent application? Maybe we can see how the magical hinge works.

Has anyone besides Lola and Nadir been found to be real people? And has any of them confirmed they are doing a KS campaign?

Episode 5 of this ordeal really put the writing on the wall.

Wait a minute, if the KS campaign is registered to Lola and PGS LAB LLC, does that mean that the money from the campaign would be deposited on her (or PGS LAB LLC which she controls) bank account? Oh boy... o_O

Yeah, some of this sounds familiar. Oh well.

Edit: Actually, it sounds like you were looking at it differently than I am. I am remembering a project this community is familiar with that didn't turn out so well for anyone involved.

I was thinking of that 3D printer project where the funds were deposited to a personal account of a member and then the funds went puff for various reasons.

So, when shit hits the fan, Nadir gets the money and Lola the legal repercussions?

lol i just googled lola and now i also got the crime boss joke. omg. this is so funny. then again, who knows how common the last name is in russia, it's just such a huge country. now someone needs to crash a ferrari.
[doublepost=1468014540,1468014433][/doublepost]apparently she dances for the bolshoi aswell. quite remarkable. let's see who can identify her on stage first. I am actually starting to think that ED should hire her for a pyra promotional tour.

It's the same person, see here: http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2003-05-30/news/0305300348_1_figure-skating-extradition-russian

"And I hope it will help him. I tell him it will end well. Because if you think it will be, it will be. You know, ideas can become reality."

Looks like she had the PGSLab mentality even back then.

So someone posted these Cherrytrail tablet which seem very cheap, hmmm, PGS perhaps then possible for the funds they are raising. I'm still skeptical, but I suppose there is a possibility

I dunno, these and other cheap Windows tablets have very little in common with PGS.. pretty much every component there is going to be significantly cheaper including the SoC which is barely half the cost as x7-Z8750. There are so many factors that would push up their price in comparison.

I also don't think heavily (and possibly temporarily) slashed prices tell the whole story.

What do I think is PGSLab themselves are closely looking at pricing for these Chinese tablets, many of which they've torn up to use as proof of concept, and basing their pricing around this. I doubt they're based on actual quotes from suppliers.

those are Z8300 not Z8750. The price difference is not very large according to Intel but those tablets don't have a lot of what they claim will be in the PGS.

Yeah I know its a z8300 thats $20 cheaper than a z8700, but its also $90 inc delivery tablet at retail. But yes, I agree on the extras in the PGS, I guess we wont know what those extras cost.

By the way, people seem to be looking at the wrong person in the PGS team, you should be looking up the only person that matters -> Sergei kirimov.

I cannot find a single thing on him. In fact google says there is only one person in the world with that precise name, and it aint him. But my search skills are not the best, so I challenge everyone else to the challenge of finding him. Maybe he goes by the russian translation of his name or something - don't know. But if he has worked on a 3D printer, quadrocopter , then he should be findable

Lola's going to matter when she finds herself in the unenviable position that Link had with iCP2.

Here's the Cyrillic for Sergei Kirimov.. maybe.. Сергей Киримов Have fun :p

hmmm

Are we meant to believe he from Sakhalin or thereabouts?

Hmm, new comment from PGS is from someone not on their company team posted just yesterday. New guy?

Yeah that is strange, another manager i suppose. Must be the missing 7th member.... although his sentences and expressions seem a little similar to Nadir.

I actually like this development as I would like to see a tech journalist do some investigating into PGS. It's quite an interesting story, lots of mystery, with Russian mobster ballerina daughter, mysterious Japanese engineer that has no evidence of existence on the internet. Plus covering the story now would beat everyone for the scoop if/when the project eventually fails.

I have been speaking with an editor of a tech site that I know. We talked about the PGS since they first announced it on forums way back.. He doesn't want to cover it until they show a real working prototype. PGS even contacted him to run a story on their KS, but he refused.
