Yeah, almost as cool as a 60fps xbox emulator...
Excuse me, an Xbox 360 emulator would be much cooler. DUHHH

If you're talking about current generation emulation, PS3 emulation would be so much cooler, of course.

...Then you will realize how custom li-ion batteries suck balls. When will people learn
When will you learn that other people also have a brain? And possibly even a different opinion than yours?

You are so arrogant, you probably believe you´re the only sensible person on this planet.

I like inbuilt li-ion Batteries because they are much more comfortable to charge, no need for external chargers, no hassle with mixing rechargeables up, no memory effect etc.
Most modern handheld devices use them nowadays because they are more convenient, suit the needs of the device better and are slimmer, no need for ugly bulges like on the gp2x´s back.
And if you don´t take it on a survival trip, the batterie will last long enough until you can recharge them.

Of course i still respect the opinions of other people, unlike you.

And if you can find any merit of normal batteries besides exchangeability, please let me know, maybe we could have an halway decent discussion here.

Rechargable batteries are good because

1. Some only take 15 minutes to recharge
2. You can buy store-bought batteries (for the GP32, at least)
3. Very useful on long trips if you bring multiple pairs

The only reason they are not suitable for the XGPmini is because of the size.

If you want to talk about the positives of the lithium. It's shape is customisable, and you dont have to pull out the batteries to recharge. You can just plug it into a wall and keep playing. So if you're not an obsessive gamer and can remember to charge most of the time, then this is great. That's way the lithium is suited to most everyday gamers.

Freaks like myself, who will run down lithium batteries if they were included in a gp2x will not be happy if they have to pay US$50 or whatever to replace their batteries.

I wonder what the battery life on this thing will be..

I hope they arent like gamepark holdings and lie their asses off. They said like 8 hours or something for mp3, now they changed it on their site though -.-
I barely get 3hours15mins off of a Pair of 2500mah energizers from it for mp3 at 100mhz! Video.. lets not talk about that.. lol

There is also the fact that the contacts suck and when you drop it they get wrecked and cave in.. I dropped it like 3 times already and they both broke off, so I had to solder a spring rig in. Im buying a external battery pack as a solution it.

Back to the topic at hand.. I prefer the built in power in this kind of device. but the apple Ipod is a pos in my opinion. A normal SD mp3 player that can take up to 4gb+ cards lasts 10hours off a normal triple A, bring 2 or 3 and your set for a couple of days. Ipod is like 6hours from what my friend tells me before it starts pooping out.

I hope the XGP has nice battery life and doesnt lie like GPH xD

Im stil going to keep my xgp to see what it holds in store, but im getting a Xgp simply because the screen is perfect for most of my movies plus it looks a hell of alot better than the gp2x.

An iPod is really not comparable to a flash memory mp3 player. Those small harddrives need about 100 times (really!) more current than a flash memory solution, plus the iPod has a bigger screen.

That being said, i never would get an iPod anyway, maybe some iRiver PMP, but not an iPod...

In my opinion, GPH should just offer GP2X's without the second processor. Depending on whether the video player or something uses it, removing it would benifit the GP2X because it would lower the price and possibly raise the battery life. It's pretty much useless, except for PSX emulation. N64 emulation will probably still be impossible, and anything below PSX can be done with good coding. So what's the point of it?

In my opinion, God should just offer men without the penis. Depending on whether sex or something uses it, removing it would benifit the man because it would lower the competition and possibly raise the battery life. It's pretty much useless, except for ejaculation. Sex will probably still be impossible, and anything else can be done with good coding. So what's the point of it?

In my opinion, GPH should just offer GP2X's without the LCD. Depending on whether the video player or something uses it, removing it would benifit the GP2X because it would lower the price and possibly raise the battery life. It's pretty much useless, except for seeing anything. Avoiding scanlines will probably still be impossible, and hiding them can be done with good coding. So what's the point of it?

Hey, I'm enjoying this...

In my opinion, God should just offer humans without the second eye. Depending on whether depth perception or something uses it, removing it would benifit the human because it would lower the face size and possibly raise the number of blind people. It's pretty much useless, except for finding out how far away stuff is. Looking directly at the sun will probably still be impossible, and anything below judging distance can be done with good coding. So what's the point of it?

Anyone think of rewording it so as to say something about removing complete idiots from gp32x, and thus benefitting the community? I think that's the only thing that wouldn't be useless  :D

In my opinion, God should just offer men with both genitalia. Depending on whether sex or something uses them, removing women would benefit the man because it would lower the competition and possibly raise the wallet contents. Making him very rich , except for ejaculation. Sex will probably still be possible, and anything else can be done with good coding. So what's the point of it?

I jest.

Trooper

For squidge, probably still needs work though:

In my opinion, GP32x should just offer GP32x without the idiots. Depending on whether the forum or something uses it, removing them would benifit the GP32X because it would lower the post count and possibly decrease the bandwidth charges. They are pretty much useless, except for occasional flaming. Avoiding noobs will probably still be impossible, and hiding them can be done with good moderation. So what's the point of them?

In my opinion, hando should just offer GP32X without the idiots. Depending on whether the flamers or something use it, removing it would benifit GP32X because it would lower the flamewars and possibly raise the overall intelligence. It's pretty much useless, except for flamebait. Comprehension will probably still be impossible, and anything below coherence can be done with good users. So what's the point of it?

EDIT: Argh, beaten to it :)

I don't get why it's a bad idea. Name one program that would largely use the second processor. And still, won't it be hard to even use it in the programming in the first place?

As for the batteries, can I say I love my Rayovac 15min rechargables I have 24 of them and that was before I purchased my GP32.
That's a lot of rechargeables... How many weeks can you go on one load?

- Alex
To tell you the truth I use them for alot of things and never bring more then 2 extra sets with me on a trip, since I use my GP32 over my GP2X becuase the games I play I could play on either.

But I think one set of AA's on my GP32 FLU or BLU last 10 hours "if" I don't over clock and as low as 6 hours with over clocking
wich means 120 hours regular or 72 Hours over clocked or more if I'm just listening to music ;)

Because the second core doesn't drain battery life when it's not in use and because it is actually very cheap indeed. You might be able to shave a couple of pounds off the price, but then you wouldn't be able to use it as a video player, nor use any program that requires the second core.

Right now there's not much out there that will use it, but that is sure to change.

You'd gain almost nothing and lose rather a lot.

I'm kind of surprised that nobody parodied your post...
