I would never sell my gp32.
I would probably be hard pressed to find somebody to buy it
since nobody knows what is.

Giffel? One of the creaters of GPengine? If you are, can we release the GPengine RF version? Any news or updates since the HD crash? Thanks.

I love GPengine if you can't tell. ;)

GPengine RF? I think it would be nice just to have it run all games correctly and have save states.

The DS will most likely have emus and homebrew, but the PSP will likely not due to the proprietary media.  What do you think you will do?

Its the other way around. DS will behave like a gba with a gba flashcart inserted (if they work at all) and no rewritable ds carts will be available for quite a while.

The PSP on the other hand is a dream for emulators, its fast, has a huge screen and they alreay announced that games will be downloadable to memorystick. once that is figured out, its going to be big.

Who is "they"? Sony? Also how do you know that there won't be any sort of DRM encryption to keep unsigned code from running on it like all consoles now have? Even downloaded GP32 commercial stuff needs a code to run.

From what I understand the source code was lost in a hard drive crash, so you would have to start from scratch or something close to it if you were to revive the project. However at a British meetup, there was an RF version released, which was the last known version. We need permission from the authors to release it, and it would still be a cool release since I know somebody who has a GP32.

i'll be keeping my gp32 for sure
i will get the ds first as it is released first and ninendo rules
two screens is so cool

i don't see much that i like on the psp
but if it gets a SNES emulator full speed with sound before nds i will sell a kindney for it
oh and if the battery life issue is resolved

i love mario *insert everything except mah-jong WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY THINKING?*

edit: and i don't see how pictochat is going to help the mole
what is pictochats range?

The dual screen and touch screen really isn't doing it for me (especially since the screens are both so small).

They *Are* bigger than the GBA and GBA SP screens. Personally, I don't have a problem seeing a screen about GP32 size, but I do agree that the PSP huge screen does look cool. :p

It is substantially smaller 3" DS vs 3.5" GP32. 1/2" is a pretty big difference on these screens.

I am buying them all, as I find there are still differences between the upcoming handhelds.

Console-wise for the next generation, I will buy only one, since I don't see much a difference between the current machines, and don't expect much change next round (leaning towards the REVOLUTION with that in mind).

Of course, GAME KING destroys all, inlcuding the pansy GP32!!! {smiley}

(although I think the DS would make a perfect INTV emulator, given the touchscreen could act as the keypad and the wireless could allow two players.... mmm, Intellivision...)

hmm well

i am quite happy with my GBA and GP32. I'm not really much for modern gaming anyway so it's all pretty irrelevant to me.

BUT! If a system came out that could be an honest-to-goodness portable Mame/Snes/Genesis etc. box (that is not a PDA), then I would raise my eyebrows. So far GP32 is closest to that, so I am happy enough.

and also of course if they somehow find a way to make advance wars more addictive/fresh on the DS then I would maybe check that out too. That one game was enough to justify my GBA, whew..

people always mutter about "GP64" but I will be very surprised if it ever sees the light of day. If it's merely a twice-as-powerful GP32 (with the support of the current scene) then that would be a sure buy for me..!

I just did some research and you're right. I stand corrected. :p

BTW, Here's a pic comparing the DS screen to the GBA screen for anyone interested. (This picture was not made by me but it gives a general idea of the differences between the two screens)

as long as it's enough for snes
snes has a pretty low res doesn't it?

i personally don't really care about genesis
only game i like on it is snow brows

people keep banging on about the size of the PSP screen being all massive and all that.

and it is: in comparison with the psp... has anyone seen the size of the PSP? it's *tiny*!!!

i'd like to see comparisons between the physical size of the PSP screen, the GBA, GB32 and DS... (saw one once, I think, but didn't take much notice of PSP and I can't be arsed to google...)

erm... and for whoever posted the size difference between GBA and DS... don't forget the DS has *2* screens... :p (i know you knew that ;))

bad point about DS? just wait until nintendo start releasing 'game and watch' conversions...

good point? pictochat ;)

I intend to keep my GP32 and also buy a PSP, my GP has given so much, theres absolutely no way i'd part with it! :D

Unless I miss my guess the screen sizes kinda break down like this.

I had to match the PSP to a photo though, but the aspect ratio is atleast correct (16:9).
