It's rise, rose, risen.  An irregular verb, with a spelling that is falling out of fashion, due to foreigners, and brits who should know better.  Similar example is shone/shined.  And dive dove doven /dive-dived.

Edit: too quick to judge, should have read.

Given the context the correct word would have been raised.

If something moving upwards it is rising. The act of lifting something is to raise it.

The sun rose into the sky.

We raised the bar.
