I have a couple of questions. Is there any way to speed up the flying towards planets - I press "J" and sometimes it speeds me up a little then stops - as you might guess, I'm very new to this! Is there anyway to get market prices for other planets than the one you are at?
I have spent a little time playing this today and it really is excellent. I've just about mastered the docking process (which was the reason I never bothered playing Elite on the c64, I was too young and it was too frustrating). I've found the docking process to be very similar to my real life attempts to dock with women. At first it's all very awkward and you're likely to do some damage by forcing your way in. After a while you get used to it, and the whole process becomes more comfortable and pleasurable - whilst retaining some excitement.
I'm off to "dock" for the fifth time this evening, though I'm getting really knackered now and should go to sleep. Cheers.
EDIT: I've been playing about with this for a while, it's very fun. I think I may have spotted a bug, though it's not drastic. I was docked at some scummy planet I can't remember the name of. I launched and realised I should have saved, lest my docking probe be shot off by some vicious pirates on arrival at my destination neighbour. I went in to dock again (I'm sure I was leaking fuel with anticipation) and the space station just crapped out a big spaceship which plopped right into my viewscreen. This is the polar opposite of my "docking with a lady" analogy, since in the case of spaceships I am not inclined to offer extra money for such a service - indeed I rather disliked it. Also, would it be possible to integrate a "note pad" so I could make little notes to refer back to? This would be a most useful addition.
