argh! I can't hear this crazy keyboard talk no more. Put a sock in it everyone!!!
In Germany we've got the qwertz layout and it's totally different from the qwerty. We have Umlauts like öäü and weird shit like that. But migo, you know what? I CAN STILL FUCKING BLIND TYPE ON QWERTY!
That's because the umlauts are off to the side, and don't interfere with the rest of the keyboard. QWERTZ just has Z and Y switched otherwise, it's far from being completely different.

Because it is used everywhere and everytime I forgot loading keyboard mappers in DOS back in the old days I had to use qwerty. Everytime I boot into linux with a bootcd I need to use qwerty... it's really not that much of a business killer compared to what would happen if you change the whole thing to dvorak. so shut the hell up already, everybody understands that dvorak is more efficient on the long term but here is a few things you just don't seem to get:
I'm aware of all that. I've experienced it as well. It's not a problem to use it for a short time, continued use, however, it is.

1. we don't have any influence on the fucking design anymore! craig and his boys already finalized it. IT'S USELESS SO STFU!
Sei nicht so 'ne Motz Tante. I know that. People were arguing the validity of Dvorak, I responded.

2. you need to understand that the general public will want to have something they can immediately use out of the box with only minor adjustments. learning dvorak does not count for that.
Graffiti on the Palms proves otherwise. In fact many people still prefer it over current generations of character recognition for pen based input, and that was having to learn a new way of writing letters, on top of cursive and block writing that they already knew.

the keyboard layout is apparently very important to a lot of people, seeing as you defend dvorak with fierce counterflaming. but still noone I have talked to about handheld gaming has heard of dvorak!
No counterflaming coming from me, you're probably just perceiving it that way because for some reason you're so incensed.

3. guess what: other languages might prefer other layouts. Only because dvorak helps you type faster while writing in English, Russian, or Polyfuckingnesian doesn't mean it also works faster with French or German!
I speak German. I prefer Dvorak over QWERTY and QWERTZ for typing in German. The all vowel home row does it for any language.

4. Please just give it up already. You like to see everyone else as ignorant and you feel misunderstood but you fail to realize that you are being stubborn and ignorant yourself.
Stubborn's debatable, ignorant, not at all. Ignorant means unaware of the facts, I'm quite aware of a lot of them in regards to this topic.

5. Noone stops you from integrating dvorak to the craiginator later on. It might be a great addition. Who knows, maybe it will be a breeze to actually change the keyboards rubber foil or buttons or whatever. Some 3rd party might come up with new layouts for countries the craiginator is being sold to.
I guess one out of five civil responses isn't bad.
