Ok It's The 26Th, Can We Have An Update?

or will let them apply a fix if he finds out it's hardware and it can be fixed easily.

If it's hardware and can't be fixed easily, will you ship the first 1000 with a view to replacing them later, or are we dead in the water until the hw issue is fixed?
More Speculaas... but i'd guess once there is a confirmed hardware fault, those boards might be viewed as "non-wifi" and be sold at a lower price as ED mentioned.

BTW French toast is called wentelteefjes in dutch which literally translates to flipping bitches

(since the other thread is all about bitches I'd thought I'd combine the two)

ED you driving or flying? Just curious.

Flying. Driving would take 15 - 16 hours, and I need to go back to work in Germany for at least one or two days in the week, so it looks like I'll be constantly flying back and forth.

Depends :) If we know it before we ship, we're gonna let you decide.
You could probably get it right away and pay a bit less for a non-WiFi unit, get it right away with the option to exchange it later (second batch maybe) or wait for a fixed unit and let someone else get it.
If it's fixable and we know the fix before we ship, we're going to do it right away.
If we know a fix AFTER we ship, you can send it back whenever you want and let us fix it.

We want YOU to decide, after all, it's your Pandora :)

Yes, either for the guys who already ordered or in the future.

Could you explain this post on the german forums please? ED?

EDIT and this:

Seems pretty straightforward to me. Notaz is testing the SDIO again. MWeston is soldering something to the debug line of the wifi chip that will give them more information. The wifi sticks they're looking at are (only) 7 Euros each. They're considering the possibility of simply removing the wifi/bt chip and offering the exact same board (I'm guessing for a reduced rate). There's still hope that Micheal's test board finds the problem and allows them to just ship everything as is without change.

Dear forum software,
stop sucking! This whole delay and then double (and sometimes triple) post thing is getting old.

When was this posted?

@posts from German board

There is no new info, except those 300KB/s, but that's TX, not RX. It has been mentioned that transmitting works better than receiving, which is still 45KB/s.

I'm not sure if the mods have anything against PHP-BB but it has a proven track record and is feature rich... like the capability to edit topics of the original post.

Yeah they are very nice boards to use, except they are under constant attack from spam bots and what not so they have to release updates for it quite often :p

Things have been getting better though.

I dunno whats your problem, but I have never made a double post on this forum.
I've got almost 3 and half times as many posts as you, and this is only the third time it's happened to me, so it's not unlikely that you wouldn't have experienced the problem. It's infrequent.
Occasionally the forum will just stop responding for a minute or two. Something is obviously happening, because the connection doesn't time out, it just goes really, really, really slow. And then suddenly it starts working again. When this happens during while reading, it's kind of annoying. When it happens when trying to post, it results in multiple posts, suggesting that it receives some kind of failure and automatically retries, when in fact it did succeed in the post. Or something.
I posted about it in the off topic forum and others confirmed seeing the same problem, so I know I'm not completely crazy.

Thanks Ed; I'll gladly take mine with slow Wifi - I'm used to those kind of speeds on my 3G dongle anyway, and I have a netbook if i want to do any webby stuff - 30kB is more than enough for irc, mail and online gaming :)

Only thing posted on twitter has been from CraigX stating his dissatisfaction with Wifi.

Is ED alright?

Yes, I am alright. I'm still waiting for some responds from the other guys, regarding how exactly we will handle everything.

The blog post most likely wouldn't have more information than I wrote here on the page anyways, just some more confirmed things.

We had a long night yesterday in IRC where we thought about all possible issues how to find out what could cause the slow speed.
Michael is going to modify a board to be able to read out the debug data from the module itself, that might also help a lot.

Regarding the first boards produced: As it looks like right now, Michael will test the debug output and then we'll either let the boards we have already ship immediately (if he doesn't find more about it) or will let them apply a fix if he finds out it's hardware and it can be fixed easily.
That's the last thing we can try out pretty quick, if it won't help, it's shipping and assembling time!

So yes, we're working on it. The fewer we post, the more busy we are with it.
It will be solved, that's something we are sure about. We won't give up!

So which possible solutions were found?
