My 1ghz Pandora videos! UAE 2.0(A1200) +unboxing video..


Seeing blood run that good in dosbox surprises me a bit, but it seem like some games run better in dosbox and some in qemu, thats quite nice.
 

Blood was a very demanding game even for its time,so its normal that it might not run at full speed
 
Can i ask what optimisations where made to the config file in order to get it running so sweetly?


Also awesome vid, cant wait for wrath of khan's amiga video also.

The Game is set to 320x200 Resolution with 3D Sound off and lowest Detail settings


(Voxel 3D Objects off).


I've disabled most things in the DosBox Config File that are not needed for Blood, e.g;


PCspeaker, Joystick etc, lowered the Sound quality... all things that can maybe gain


a little bit Performace increase, and set Frameskip to "2" more Frameskip do a negative


effect during the Game.

I'm not sure but i think the 2nd Config File is maybe a little bit faster, because it uses


no aspect correction and no Scaler (e.g: scaler=normal2x is set to scaler=none)


but the Games (320x200) are still in Fullscreen. Other Games (640x480) are too at Fullscreen,


but they are in 4:3 and not streched.


For some Games you can try the DOS/32 Advanced DOS Extender:

integrate it to the Game EXE.


This can also "maybe" increase a little bit performace for some Games,but do no


effect in Blood i think.

I've mad another (quick) Video from DosBox running the Game "Blood"


Clocked to 1,2 GHz ,with little optimized DosBox Config File (dosbox.conf).


There are some slowdowns during the Game but it is


quite playable with Sound and Music.


(On a real Machine a Pentium 75 MHz CPU with


16MB RAM is recommended.)

So roughly what CPU are we looking at in terms of real performance? 100Mhz Pentium?


That's quite a few games that work I suppose... I wonder if ST:TNG A Final Unity would play well?
