I open this post for give some feedback to the great SmashGp game.

Here we can give some help for ripping players (marios, dK's, zelda...) or scenaries to reach the best freeware game for gp32.

Thanks to matkeupon for his job, please continue with your project, there are many people waiting any like SmashGp for years!!

I can rip sprites from N64 emu.

Its the best ported [if thats what you call it...] freeware game for the GP32 i think. [and probably will for a long time once its updates >>>] Just needs mor characters, lvls, multiplayer, and everything else that the original has which has a 99.9% chance of already being on the todo list.

This port/game could be the best with some new features such as multiplayer support, levels, players...please go on!!!

What a nice topic

Thanks for all your comments !!!

And the character editor, the level editor, game modes, and new menus should be ready this week end <_<

Anyway, aguirrech, I'm very interested in n64 rips actually... PM me please !

SmashGP is excellent mATkEUpON. Looking forward to the next update(s) ... I am really suprised it didn't rank higher at gbax....

Likewise - and the only reason it hasn't received as much press as it might have done (I think) is simply because there was so much else in the competition that drew attention away from it (principally Aka noid, Lacuna, Pituka and of course the Sunday Surprise of DrMD).

Had it been released at any time other than in a competition, you'd have had swathes of people saying how cool it was (and is). So yeah.

The game is brilliant and polished, as we all know - really looking forward to any updates on it. Only thing would be the already mentioned arena sizes - too big lol. I actually think the N64 had it about right in SSB - enough to move around, but not enough to run to a corner and hide...

This game is great! I showed it to one of my friends who is a nintendofan and he totally flipped! Its excellent so far, but when you have 4 players they tend to spread apart and then it zooms out and its really hard to see your character. Also if ttheres anyway you could have the players have different color schemes, sometimes i get confused.

You said you sould be able to have an update by this weekend? Sweet!
Then i'll have to learn how to use the editors and get to workon something.

Great game, i hope you wil continue to work on it.

Yes, Smash GP is fantastic, and when the character creation bugs are sorted out and the arena editor released I'll be making Balloon Fighter and the Balloon Fight arena straight away :D

Great work!

well there are tools to get tiles from the game

also you can get rid of certain layers, take a screenshot, and cut sprites out in paint.

I have started gathering sprites. I think i'll do yoshi 1st.

But does anyone know where i can get sound clips?

I have asked matkeupon, but he didnt answer:

How big should the sprite be?

About sprite sizes, well, you're free to make your character with any shape and size. You'll have a better idea of the process when I release the next version with the pdf.

About sounds, well, I actually plugged my n64 into my pc, and recorded them using the sound test :)

If you need more sprites, I found this website that has lots of really well done ones.
www.gamelovers.ca/ SpritesNintendo.html and you can find smash bros characters, double dash characters and lots more.

edit: the address does not work for some reason so search google for zelda sprites and on the first page click on the 7th picture and that will take you to the site
