I Got Gpsp (gba) Running With Sound!

Well I practically joined just to post on here. I just wanted to say that you Zodttd have done an amazing emulator port thus so far, and Exophase you have also done an amazing job for originally coding this emulator. I just wanted to say thank you for all of your work both of you. :D

Funny, but I don't think it is good to hijack this thread.

Probably should be about the great work these guys are doing with these emus :)

I am so fucking glad that I didn't sell my GP2X - this will get a big thumbs up from me.

Once again, amazing work - you're a gifted programmer.

haha, great DaveC Seals.

Some fresh beta testing!

I tested Summon Night Swordcraft Story with the fast version, and it runs very very nice! Sound is only slightly jittery and animation is nice (was using frameskip of 4). I didn't test long enough to see how it handles in battles, but I'd assume it would be a little less smooth.

Sigma Star Story has lots of graphic glitches in the fast version, and, oddly enough, it actually runs much quicker on the standard version. No glitches on the standard version, but its still too slow to be playable.

You didn't happen to test it past the part where you choose your name? Every time I got to that part I would click ok and it would freeze. :(

I hadn't but I just did. You're right, the emu freezes after name entry in both standard and fast version.

I tested Scurge: Hive (in fast version). It runs well, but it slows down a lot when you enter a room with lots of enemies.

Yeah I actually tested Summon Night in all three releases and no luck. I still love playing Balder's Gate - Dark Alliance though.

If anything it could be gpSP2x to avoid confusion.

does gba4gp2x sounds ugly? ;)

They could call it ratzenbrackenfrackinrackin for all I care; I just re-name the link in Gmenu2x anyway ;)
ratzenbrackenfrackinrackin2x :p

Zodttd, do you know if you will be adding support to use savestates from the computer? This would make it possible to load games once we get past the glitches on the gp2x. Thanks for the great emu.

It's not as easy as you think: every emulator has its own savestate format.

I know, just wondering if it could be a future possibility.

It isn't happening. GBA games are typically made to be somewhat save friendly anyway, just transfer the ingame saves (.sav).

Actually, unless the author stores the game name, time etc. in the header, all a savestate is is a RAM dump.

There's far more to the state of a machine than just its RAM, and a lot of it is going to vary depending on how the emulator is implemented.

Couldnt see the other one. :)
I like it!
Seconded!

yeah, but it's needs to be screwed up because it's things DaveC complain about
