Unfortunately, the two are usually kinda hard to port between, and always have been. Not that some don't tackle it, but it's not straightforward, by any means. Roughly to the extent that if anything has x86 ASM anywhere other than routines that are easy to re-write from scratch, they aren't going to be ported.

Conceivably, someone else might convert them to C or another high level language, at which point their portability may be re-assessed, but bear in mind, when using C, you lose some of the blazing speed that ASM can often provide...

Yeah, the camera was definitely a bit jerky, but it still looked pretty good!

I thought this one was rather good coz you can even keep sound on ---->JUMPING FLASH

Haven't tried this since the first couple of versions (which didn't work for me due to dodgy rips to get games onto a 256Mb card) - it is looking rather sexy, if those vids are the current state of it. Not playable, of course, but you can see it almost so being given a lot of work :)

Regarding people who use the HDD and having issues with SD cards as far as speed. Are you guys using cheaper/slower SD cards? I have the A-DATA 4GB card 150x and I dont see how the hdd running off the usb port could offer any more improvement over a 150x card.

this is a bit of FF7 intro HERE!. i kept the sound on again coz i thought it was still good with the sound. This emulator is amazing !

Hello everyone! :)
I'm still around, I've just been very busy. I meant to get a status update on things awhile back but there were the "trojan issues" with the forums so I decided to wait it out.

So, a status update for GP2PSX...Unai has been doing a great job developing for GP2PSX and might be able to bring some new developers onboard. From what he's told me it seems the GPU is not the main bottleneck at this point, it's the R3000A CPU emulation. So our main goal should be to get a dynamic recompiler working. There's already a recompiler layout in place, just not for ARM. I'm going to see what I can do for the recompiler tonight. It seems pretty straight-forward.

The hope is that the recompiler will speed things up enough to give the GPU some room to "breathe".

I had been working on GP2PSX whenever I had the chance, but my work didn't really help the emulator progress, so Unai and I decided to revert back a version and try again.

So for now, I'm focusing on the dynamic recompiler. Something I should of done awhile ago. ;P

Will keep everyone updated...sorry for the delay.

Sounds most excellent.

Thank you for working on this project... it is very facinating to see the progress of the emulator, and see it taking shape.

You're doing great, and keep up the good work!

I think everyone can wait as long as you're keeping providing us such good news ;)
