Hi,

I have a GP2x First Edition Flased with Firmware 2.0.0

I use the Selector 2.0 to launch Gngeo.

With the last Gnegeo which was not using the second Cpu for sound, it's great. (with sound)

With the last Beta10 it's Slooooooooooooow with sound when i activate the sound @ 22050 (but very very slow)

and it's smooth without sound.

Bye

I tried with NeoGeo Rage2x But it worked once and then same "slowliness" than with the selector

maybe you mmuhack module is not loaded correctly
No it's really a crash of the 940 because when launch it through a terminal i can see the mmu launching

and after during green screen, black screen, I have these messages:

and it tries several times until the emu crash (i was thinking it was just slow, but it crashed)

The 940 can crash if you overclock it too high. Are you running this at the default clock? If not, you may be overclocking higher than the 940 can handle. The 920 is usually much more tolerant of a high clock speed than the 940.

Hi,

Unfortunaltly i did no overclocking, the clock is @ 200Mhz, arrrgh
Yes, it's definitely a serious bug in the code. I just have to find it and fix it
Thanks to all the people here who make test :)

I am on Firmware 2.10 and as soon as I enable sound it either kicks me back into the menu during the loading process or loads completely but then just displays a black screen and all I can do is to turn of my GP2X (it depends on the game it seems).

No overclock btw. And the version before you enabled the second core worked just fine, but all version with the 940 have shows this problem.

Edit: After replacing the mmuhack.o with the one from picodrive those games that had a black screen and no way to continue now show a strage green partially messed up screen, and after a while of random button pressing it actually starts the game and everything seems to work!
But Metal Slug for example still kick me back into the menu while loading when sound is enabled.

the strange green screen is the start up test and is normal. you can disable it in unibios are starting the game up.

Is the source available? If so sometime another dev will come by and spot the bug. It can be helpful often as sometimes it can be hard to spot your own bugs :p

This happened with gpSP where the random crashing bug was found and fixed this way. Just a thought.

the source is generally available in the svn tree. But be warned, my code is messy :) (and the berlios svn seems down today :( )

Fantastic work pepone!

Even the most demanding games like Garou mark of the Wolves, and the MetalSlug series work like a charm.

FW 2.1.1
95% @60fps (@240MHz) :D

At first it did not work well with FW 2.0 (the sound was messed up and slow speed), but 2.1.1 seems to have done the trick.

In what programming language are you programming C or assembly?
