This is the list of all the free games I got (in bold the ones I wanted from GOG):

- Axiom Verge
- Subnautica
- Oxenfree (actually this was free also on GOG)
- Slime Rancher
- Super Meat Boy
- The Jackbox Party Pack
- The Witness
- Thimbleweed Park
- Transistor
- What Remains of Edith Finch
- World of Goo

and the next one will be "Stories Untold"

Good that you've listed them. They'll have to go back on your gog list once the epic games launcher crashes and burns.
Well, surely not for all of them, because they work without the client too, the client is just required to download them.

I'm not sure anyway if in that list there are games with DRM, but if it's the case, doesn't seem something related to the client for me, but comes from the game itself.

No Linux and all in for exclusives. I don't even want anything from them for free.
Why provide a better service when you can use that Tencent money to make everything exclusive?
They have implemented the Chinese policy all the way. Everything is done with a lot of money and a firm hand.

Look what they are doing:

Starting this year the PC version of "Rocket League" will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store
Epic managed to make Valve/Steam look like the good guys, which is quite a feat.
Meanwhile GOG.com was hurt so badly by Epic throwing money around by the millions to bind studios to their crap, that GOG had to drop the Fair Price Package altogether at the end of March.

Well, about Linux, they are not exactly denying it, but for now their first priority is to add functionalities to the client that are already present in ALL the other clients around.

Anyway exclusive games are always bad, in every store, but for now Steam is still the king for that.

At least lately, Stardock and Blizzard started a "very shy" distribution of their games in other stores...

EDIT:
Also an interesting thing about linux

lol, I don't know if I'll ever buy something there, yesterday an update of the client did a mess on my end, seems like it's missing some javascript or stylesheet to me, it is totally unusable.
Even redownloading and installing again leave the situation unchanged... luckily the games I'm using don't require the client.

...no Linux?

What is with Wine?
There are plenty of native Linux ports Epic could support like Steam and some extent GoG does... I rather encourage natively ported games and a native client than just use wine. Also I don't like how Epic client seems like a steaming pile of Malware.

I suppose you are not using it, else the impression will be very different. Maybe it has a little big banners/videos for games in the default page, but still I didn't see suspicious things from it, it's still very simple. Steam is on an entirely different level.

Now I'm more concerned about this: https://www.gogalaxy.com/en/

I've never used it honestly, for one mostly my point of using native Linux programs. Secondly my malware statement is just going on the several dozen articles about the privacy concerns...

Damn, this is even worse, no physical copy !!
It was also noted that those ordering a physical PC edition will now receive a code for the Epic Games
