WOaaaaaaah.  Something happened!  ON the GP32, my Sonic 3 rom never had a save/load game screen, and played different levels.  Now it plays like the sonic 3 i remember (same rom WTF?)
oh, a minor graphical glitch. ON Angel island, the water is not showing, but i enter and exit the water like its there. (Sonic 3). I guess some front layer graphics aren't showing?

It has been like that since the GP32. No scan line interrupt palette switching yet. Reesy said it has something to do with linux not allowing you to read some hardware register directly or something like that. HH will have the water effect.

DaceC, there's a tool to change the clock speed and turn off the second CPU. Things'll be faster and you'll use less battery. :)

My experience with speed so far has been that at 200MHz things have been great (though Sonic 3 does get a little laggy), and at 266MHz things are ridiculous (60+ FPS for most games and 45 - 50 for Sonic 3). Clocked down to 133MHz things are still quite fast and there are only a few infrequent obvious dropped frames and such.

I let the kid behind the counter at Game Crazy play a little Sonic 1 on it tonight when I bought Descent and Ridge Racer to try out the GP2PSX emu :D .

He thought it was cool. Then I showed him that awesome fight scene in the church from advent children, and let him play Quake. I hope he checks out the system at home on his internet. I should go to GameStop/electronics boutique and flash it around. I need a way to make the screen brighter, The old firmware may have had ghosting, but at least it was visible in a store under the flourescents.

I at least have Sonic to show off. I also have a friend who wouldn't be impressed until it would play "the greates game in the world" Ecco the dolphin (I have that and tides of time ready to roll for him next time I see him).

Yep thats right, currently its impossible to keep track of what lcd line is currently being displayed by the GP2X.

When HH mode is completed we will have full access to the interrupts, so it will be a 5 minute fix to add a HBLANK interrupt that increments a counter and a VBLANK interrupt that resets this counter. Once this is done I'll be able to do palette switches halfway though a frame ( or more ) and this will fix the palette effects seen in a lot of games while keeping the speed gained by using 8bit graphics.

Save states are not compatible with gp32 ones but in the next release I will try and sort this. It will mean however releasing a new GP32 version of DrMD, that will *upgrade* your current save states to a new version and this version of save state will be interchangeble between GP32 and GP2X.

6 button pad emulation is on my to do list, so don't worry.

Thanks for the donations everyone, up to £120 so not much further to go now.

WOW REESY

playing castlevania so silky smooth WITH THE SOUND ... is blissful

samurai shodown is also perfect ... too bad the music in this game sucks so bad  :p

panorama cotton is still glitched too much to play, but loading and you can go through the levels ...

leander/galahad runs great--little visual glitch @ the bottom of the screen but playable.

So, the game should be saving if the sRam load/save is set to AUTO, right?

What about adding Sega CD in the future? Please think about it, please!

Donations for Sega CD support? ;)

First things first. How about just letting him finish this part.

I have doubts that CD will be playable at any decent speeds. There is another whole 68000 in there to emulate plus DSP chips. 2 x 68000 plus Z80, YM, plus DSPs is a bit much don't you think?
