It may be particular to FLU units but I'm not noticing very much difference between the 3 brightness settings.

Things are generally darker than I'd expect.

forgot to mention It a samsung screen

Desert strike does work, Well at least for me it does.

You`ve just got to press the start button repeatedly to start a game untill you get to the frigate with you helicopter on it.

Hope this helps.

Re: Desert Strike, ok I'll give it a go. It just seemed like it locked up on the screen with the commander and no text appeared like usual (?).

Also Road Rash is a Cyclone issue - I'm sure it hasnt worked in previous Genesis emulators.

The Story of Thor ...

Gaiares works if you press start to skip the SEGA logo which doesn't appear.

The Story of Thor works very well but just has those little graphical bugs that only appear in certain areas. Generally areas with trees.

OK, in my previous list I only tried some games very quickly so I was wrong about a few things (when I say "perfect", it generally means I haven't found anything wrong YET)... here's what was wrong, plus some new games that I tried:

D&D: Warriors of the Eternal Sun - perfect

Dr. Robotnic's Mean Bean Machine - perfect

Elemental Master- perfect

Exile - in this RPG the characters walk completely over the game map! They walk through and on top of buildings, walls, etc. A major bug, I think.

Galaxy Force II - perfect

Generations Lost - The "title screen" is only a background of stars with some music. So, I don't know if the GAME works, but I know that I can't get into the actual game to find out.

King's Bounty - perfect (a simple but good strategy game, reccommended!)

Landstalker - as soon as I start a new game, I get a message: "Exception: Prefetch Abort" from the GP32 BIOS monitor (by Mr. Spiv)

The Magic School Bus - perfect, if very choppy in places

Ristar - NOT quite perfect as I said before... at the end of lvl 1 & beginning of level two there are some annoying graphical glitches that begin to appear. The one with water effects is especially bad...

Star Control - OK, I think that the version I tried last time must have been faulty... I have a version this time that'll start up the game screen, but won't let me enter Melee mode. Maybe it's a faulty ROM again, who knows... Has anybody gotten Melee to work?

Toejam & Earl 2 - actually, the music and sound effects are quite a bit "off" now that I notice it. The music seems to speed up sometimes, then slow down randomly. Usually it plays so slow that you can't hear it.

P.S. When would I want to go into "16-bit mode"? what's the difference?

I've gotten Melee to work. It's starts out completely black, but after a while it comes up.

16 bit mode is more accurate of colors, like 256 and 16 mil. color settings on your PC. But 16 bit mode takes more power and slows it down. 8 bit looks really good,
I don't think it's really worth it to go into 16 bit mode.

There is some problem with point calculations where at the end of the level your score will just continue to rise and never stop. It has happened in a few games. Rocket Knight Adventures for one. I don't think it happens every time so it may be related to how many points you get.

Hey, Reesy, in case you're still reading this... here are some other things I found:

Phantasy Star 4 and Star Control both seem to suffer from the same bug; when in the actual game, the screen after a seemingly random period of time becomes black, and I can't do anything, even exit to the main emulator menu. This is a shame because in other respects PS4 seems to work perfectly at 156Mhz.

Phantasy Star 3 seems to work ok... I think... I didn't play it for that long... ;)

BTW, can I ask a minor request for any possible future versions? Would it be possible to move the more often-used commands (like "return to game") to the top of the menu?

Press L and R together to return to game.
L and R will always take you back a menu, but I will move the return to game menu option to the top anyway.

trying to run Virtua Racing (Genesis/MD version) causes the GP to reboot.

Reesy you still planning on releasing the minor/bugfix update soon? Did you really fix the music speed in all the sonic games?

Virtual Racing uses an extra math chip on the cartridge. This is "currently" not emulated, so this game will not work

NO I LIED <_<

Why don't you ask my beta testers? They can confirm I've fixed the sound on Sonic 2 and 3.

I thought I remembered something about virtua racing having some extra chip like the SNES FX chip... wasn't sure, but I wasn't at all surprised that it wouldn't run.

Sorry about the phrasing of my sonic music question... I gotta say, I do envy those beta testers :) Just curious, you specifically mention Sonic 2 and 3 as being 'fixed'... the odd thing is that ALL the sonic games (at least that I've tried, which is also sonic and knuckles and sonic 3d... but of course barring the nigh-on-perfect sonic 1) seem to suffer from whatever music bug the exact same way, not at all like many other games where the music plays too fast or not at all, in the sonic games it tends to run too slow but the tempo will flux constantly. Not that any of this info is news to you :D What I'm getting at is... do they all run their sound the same way, hence the same behaviour? I'm just curious what the differences would be, that whatever fix you did, then, would only fix 2 and 3? At any rate... Sonic 2 being my favorite Sonic, MD game, and one of my favorite platformers of all time... man I'm gonna be in heaven :)

Oh, and thought I'd mention... another jaw dropping moment for me, courtesy of Dr MD... when you boot up Sonic 3D, the FMV intro movie plays FLAWLESSLY, at a constant 50+ FPS to boot... I always thought any kind of FMV would be taxing on an EMU. This thing has turned into an addiction for me... every day I find myself searching around and adding 2 or 3 games to my SMC to play on this wonderful emulator!

NO I LIED <_<

:) I like your sense of humour... that's what I might've said too.

Anyway, I didn't realize that L+R goes back to the game, sorry.

About the music problem, I think there is something similar to that going on in Toejam & Earl 2... here's hoping it's fixed now.
