Bush is not a war criminal. WE were attacked by alquda who had a stronghold in iraq. If we didn't go to war there, we would be fighting all the terrorists here in the U.S Let me use a little thing about world war II. The japanese bombed the crap out of pearl harbor. We then declared war and we started to invade other countries to win the war, similarly, we were attcked at the world trade center on our soil.
Have you been asleep for a few years? There is absolutely no connection between bin laden and Saddam. There is not one shred of credible evidence that Iraq had anything to do with 9/11

Bush is a war criminal and should be tried on an international court.

But I suppose it's not really much of a choice either way when you've got a complete liar on one side, and a zombie-pitbull team on the other.
Obama is not a complete liar. He may say things that will be difficult to accomplish but I believe he will at least TRY to achieve those goals and work towards them. He also may make a mistake and misquote a number but there are few times when he purposefully tells a lie. He can't, as the corporate media will always call him on it, while giving McCain a free pass. The fact is the corporate media (especially Faux News) are all in the tank for McCain. This is why we don't hear the truth about McCain but they make something out of nothing with Obama (Lipstick-gate etc) all of the time.

McCain on the other hand IS a complete liar.

Before he was against offshore drilling, now he is for it when he thinks he can get votes (Drill baby Drill!).

John McCain was part of the Keating 5 which was responsible for the S&L disaster. His economic advisor is/was Phil Gramm, a guy whose "deregulate everything" approach helped bring down the US financial system recently that now leaves the taxpayers holding the bill. McCain himself admits he doesn't know much about the economy. So McCain's record is pro deregulation. McCain on monday claimed "the economy is fundamentally sound" , then a day later claimed the economy is in trouble and he is FOR more regulation. Which is it?

He repeatedly says that Obama will raise everyones taxes even though Obama has always said that he will repeal Bushes tax cuts ONLY for those making over $250K a year. Again a McCain lie.

McCain puts out a lie filled ad that says that Obama wants to teach sex ed to kindergarteners. Again a lie, The bill in question was to educate kids to learn to recognise and guard against sexual predators basically just a "stranger danger" program to keep kids safe.

McCain has voted with Bush over 90% of the time but now he claims he is for "reform". I guess he just decided that now when running for POTUS, because his record shows otherwise.

Sara Palin was also under investigation for abuse of power in Alaska even before chosen for VP. Now the McCain campaign has flooded Alaska with lawyers to sue to stop the "trooper-gate" investigation and have basically suceeded in posponing it until after the election. Now THAT is reform  What if she IS guilty (which seems very likely) ? McCain wants her anyway even though she has shown to abuse her power? That is reform? That is "straight-talk"? Come on.

There are alot more but McCain is a compulsive liar. All of these things can be verified.

McCain repeatedly gets things wrong that he SHOULD KNOW especially when he is running on "experience". Things like mixing up Sunni and Shi'a, not knowing that Czechoslovakia is no longer, that Iraq and Pakistan don't share a border etc.

I am sorry after 8 years of Republican rule and disasterous economics, dangerous foreign policy, lacking fiscal responsibility, incompetance, etc I don't think they should be rewarded with another term. They need to be thrown out if nothing else for punishment. Why reward them for poor performance? While Obama is far from perfect, he strikes me as smart, competant, pretty honest (as far as politicians go) and trustworthy. He is a constitutional scholar that has written many books etc. I think the cabinet he would assemble would be light years ahead of the cronies, lobbyists, and hacks that McCain and the neocons would put in. Haven't we had ENOUGH already? I am sorry, this time I want the SMART guy in control. We already tried the dumb-guy-I'd-like-to-have-a-beer-with president. We have seen how that has worked.

well I see that you all have it all thought out right? I mean anybody who is not liberal is right right?
If you don't like someone then fine, but its not nice to call bush a war criminal anymore then I say something derogatory towards your country. Lets remember we are a close nit of video game makers and emulators group. Lets not be split as a community for stupid polotics. Polotics and religion can make friends into enemies fast.

Just facts nothing else. "liberal"? It has nothing to do with conservative or liberal, just right and wrong.

Bush IS a war criminal. It is a known fact that he knowingly lied us into an unneccessary war. It is a known policy of the neocons to want to start multiple wars with the middle east, even BEFORE 9/11. Just look up the PNAC (Project for a New American Century). you will see that this was a goal since the late '90s. This was a project to shove American ways down other countries throat whether they like it or not. If they aren't receptive to those ways, Bomb them into oblivion. Scary stuff.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_for_t...merican_Century

It is also OK to say something derogative towards the US when we deserve it. I don't think we should get any free pass anymore than any other country should. While I love my country I think it is going in the wrong direction lately. I hate to see it be the object of despise as it is now around the world instead of the beacon of hope that it once was, and could be again. I fear that McCain and the neocons will just continue that wrong path.

They've always known where Bin Laden is. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2001/nov/0...istan.terrorism What do you think happens when the boogeyman is defeated? What will America's opinion on the war be then? What will the rest of his family from Saudi Arabia think? How deep are Saudi Arabia's pockets? How much cash does Saudi Arabia bring into the US? What happens when some of the richest countries in the world turn against you? What's the going price for a gallon of gas in Syria, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia? What's the price of gallon of gas in Texas?

I don't know the answer to any of these questions. But I'm betting they won't answer them on CNN.

I think you're under the impression that DaveC isn't American. He is. So am I. We can say whatever we want about Bush, because under his regime, we've all been deeply affected.

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? Your posts lead me to believe that you're simply speaking for your parents. Perhaps I'm wrong. Please point out if this is the case.

Your Pearl Harbor example isn't very clear. First of all, we were bombed by the Japanese, correct. We retaliated by dropping atomic bombs on two of their cities, killing millions of innocent women and children. The decision to bomb civilians is still debated to this day. What exactly are you trying to connect here?

Do you watch Fox News? I actually saw O'Reilly's interviews with Obama and thought that they put him in a good light, and will be more likely to vote for him because of them. O'Reilly also had some good things to say about him, although obviously they didn't agree on a lot.

I have seen it alot although I don't watch any news programs regularly (internet mostly for me now). My Republican mom watches Fox and when I am there visiting I see it alot though (and yell at the TV). I did see the Obama-O'reilly thing (got annoyed at how Billo kept interrupting though but that is his way). Sean Hannity is so terribly biased it is not even debatable.

Fox news is a known right-wing biased opinion channel. It is owned by the mega rich Rupert Murdoch. They try to call themselves "fair and balanced" but they have an agenda. Fox is very effective at giving their viewers the illusion that they are covering both sides of the issue. As a result, their viewers feel like they are free thinkers, "in control" of the information they are taking in. It is a one-stop shop for them, and they don't feel as though they need to go to multiple sources to get an objective view. I've been told this directly, multiple times. They get that Colmes is not as strong a personality as Hannity, and they're OK with that because they believe they are in control enough to still be objective. There is subtle flattery going on as well. They are told regularly that they are superior and more savy than their liberal counterparts. Sadly, they complain about the things the rest of us do about what is happening in the country, but the Fox narrative is so clear and easy to absorb, it makes them feel smart and in control, but is entirely misleading to their detriment. By stacking the deck like 60-40 they come across as being fair but in the end the 60 % wins out and their viewers tend to go vote Republican more than not.

Even the main stream media (Fox likes to call the "liberal media") seems to be in the tank for the Republicans. They omit or gloss over many real stories of detriment to the Republican ticket and make up or overplay any detrimental stories of the Democrats (example: lipstick on pig). You have to look at the news organizations owners to see what their slant may be
http://la.indymedia.org/news/2003/04/47530.php .

If you want to really be informed of both sides and make a good decision you could read some of the "left-leaning" articles ( http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ ) as well as the right-wing stuff like Fox and then decide what seems to make the most sense for you.

There are nuts on both sides, like the left-wing nuts that think 9/11 was an inside job, and the right-wing nuts that think everything bad in the world is a result of Bill Clinton.

I am old enough to make my opinions my own. All were going to do is snap at one another until it spirals downward. Lets be simplistic here. I disagree with you, you disagree with me, no one's going to convince the other what to do. Did bush make a big mistake going in iraq, probably, but the man is not a war criminal. You all are entitled to your opinions, but this is where I get off. The rest of you can bicker over what you want, but If I were you I'd erase this thread and return to making games and emulators, that makes more sense to me.

DaveC; I don't disagree that Fox News has a right-wing bias, but it seems quite exaggerated by many people whom I see mentioning it on the internet. I've seen other networks that have a more outspoken left bias, but I rarely see them getting flamed for it. Hannity may have a "stronger personality" than Colmes but IMO that makes everything he says seem less sensible ;P Which is not exactly a credit to his purposes. I also don't agree that it's not hard for people to tell when particular speakers are being biased in their own particular opinions - the people who readily agree with everything on any news editorial were probably already highly aligned with the person to begin with. People really zoom in on and him and O'Reilly's slanted editorials, but seriously, as far as actual news coverage goes (particularly non-political) they're not nearly as bad as people make them out to be.

I would just like news to be news.

I don't want left or right bias anywhere. I want the facts all of the facts and only the facts. Right now investigative reporting seems to be dead. Most news media show their bias not by what they say but by what they choose to omit. Maybe they are just plain lazy I don't know.

Right now I have to hear right wing stuff from Fox etc. then left side from Olberman (kind of radical) or Rachel Maddow then try to come in between. I like Rachel Maddow on the left side most as she seems knowledgeable and calm and focused on the news/facts and not a total raving left-wing wacko.

News seemed much more fair in the distant past. Now alot of it is more "info-tainment"

lol fox news. I remember how they did a story about DSes being pedo tools (ie pedo finds a kid with a ds, drives near them, and pictochats them for personal info) and the mass effect story. Ah well, at least they encourage people to get dogs and curtains.

Ommg it can view picyures, even teh porno!!!

Never mind digicams, cell phones, ipods... <_<

I have completely stopped caring about politics. I was mildly interested for a while, but I'm not really any more. I don't think I'll register to vote any time soon. I just wish there were an easier way to immigrate to Canada, legally that is. I only live 4 hours away from Winnipeg, so it wouldn't be that difficult physically.
