I was under the impression a stethoscope was terribly expensive but apparently they are like $100-250.I prefer the hands on method myself. The only items you need are a white coat and a stethoscope.

Sure, but when you forget your stethoscope in the staff room can you whistle and have it come flying to you ? I've never heard of stethoscope UAVsbut those don't have monthly recurring costs.
