And how is that enforced? They might not be allowed, but just because something is not allowed does not stop people from doing it, out of malice, ignorance, or carelessness. Vehicle drivers are assumed to know how tall their vehicle (plus any load) is, and be able to read signs, so vehicles should never end up stuck under bridges, yet somehow it happens all the time...The Sign said 4,5 m (Metric) im a bit confused: A Truck is only allowed to be max 4 m in high, and when its higher, they need to have a special paperwork (Sondergenemigung) , as there are also oversized loads, but they then arend allowed to take roads whit too low bridges..
( I have a Truck Drivers Licence, but recently i only drive in ETS2)..
One issue is drivers using a 'standard GPS navigator' designed for use by car drivers, because they are far, far cheaper than the specialised ones that include data on narrow roads, bridges with weight limits, and low bridges; and show the applicable speed limits for (heavy) goods vehicles.
It's absurd because putting a protective barrier in front of the height restriction is not allowed.
