Software development could be so much fun, if it weren't for the customers...

Customer: "Your software is too slow, you need to optimize it, it's too complicated in my opinion"
Me: "Well, we have optimized it and parallelized everything... it's lightning fast on our side"
Customer: "It's especially slow when more than one user is logged in"
Me: "That is strange, we have deployed it on a cloud cluster which scales up on demand, it's a high availability multiuser system by design... I'll look into it again"

Turns out, they are running our web application on thinclients in VMs that barely handle MS office... So when more than one person is logged on, everything goes to shit. We have been telling them to look into this for over a year... ARGH!

Binky be like "Someone hasn't been doing her physics homework? [bunch of physic teaching]"
Sane person: "Stop killing your fucking guineapigs you stupid cunt!"

Sane person complains about website running too slow.
xnopasaranx be like: "Buy better hardware you stupid cunt!"

The absurdism lies within us.

lol

more like:
insane customer wants us to code a huge non relational database infrastructure, managing their ERP, Sales, construction (technical specifications and data) and documents (manuals, pictures for catalogues and web, SEO) - it's actually 4 interconnected systems - doesn't tell me that their sales people work with tiny thinclients on their intranet and then complains that it is too complex... no need to buy any hardware, just allocate some more RAM.
EDIT: Oh yeah... and my insane boss accepts that insane project! the most insane part actually...

You said its a webpage. Thinclients are for showing webpages. Thats the whole fucking concept. Stop making up excuses.
If you need a proper computer to work with the shit you coded then the whole webpage term is pointless.

lol wow you are an asshole. I neither said they'd need to buy new hardware, nor did I say it was a webpage. We program a shitload of stuff for these people, most runs on cloud clusters. those do the beefy shit, that's not even any of the customers concern. what they were complaining about is a tiny web application that is one of the front ends to that system. and it is a tiny web application. as I said those thin clients in particular already struggle with ms office. they need to allocate more ram and fix their firewall rules for those computers, that is not my job. the freaking web front end isn't doing rocket science on the network or on the client, it's pulling and filling in some text data into a document structure that can be edited a little and then that's turned into a pdf server side. and yes, that is why they have thin clients and why we have designed the frontend in such a way.
