Not only that, but they run an instance of httpd (on a peculiar port) on the standard windows install which can be used to track the user's machine across the internet.

It's unclear right now whether removing the dellroot certificate will nix this at the same time.  But just running an open server with all the security considerations that implies on a default install is pretty cheeky according to me.
