    Pandora Pre-orders

it's being designed primarily by the guy who distributes the gp2x in the uk. it's going to be mail order. i'm guessing most if not all of the gp2x distributors will add the pandora to their catalogs. there was/is a turkish gp2x distributor who had an account on this forum but i forget his...

    Pandora Themeing

black backgrounds don't use less power on lcd's. the backlight (which is always on) uses orders of magnitude more electricity than what's required to manipulate the liquid crystal molecules, and in any case, a black pixel requires voltage while a white one does not. there have even been studies...

Intel Atom: Did Pandora Choose The Wrong Cpu?

Although people are seeing things like the EEE and thinking, wow, x86 is the future for small devices, I'd be very surprised if x86 pushed ARM & MIPS out of markets that they currently excel at, rather than the other way around. Obviously x86 isn't going to go away overnight, but like the...

    Package Manager Repos

apt works beautifully on the iphone. it is a bit more work for the people making the packages (compared to a zip file or something). but it gives the devs more control over updates in the sense that, unless someone screws around with permissions and things, they know in advance where a...

Pandora I Want To Try And Make A Game For Pandora!

personally i think you should just get started in windows, rather than trying to learn programming in the midst of feeling around a new OS. you will probably need to know how to get around a unix-style filesystem and bash prompt in order to load and save files on the pandora. this is not hard...

    Interview: Exophase

yeah i found out about temper not too long ago. perhaps exophase should follow zodttd into the iphone scene...objective-c can't be that bad, and zod said there was some decent donation money in it :D best part..."annoying." exophase is always no-nonsense and it's great. cool read hooka, always...

    Question About Snes Sound

I think the issue is that in DrPocket "Sound OFF" stops emulating the sound completely, so you now have an SNES without the sound hardware, and a save state is going to preserve that. Like Exophase says you have to use an in-game save, choose "save SRAM", then exit DPS or reset the game, and...

    Legally Emulating Games

realyst's assessment is spot on, or at least it correlates with the little i know of these things. my 2c: obviously the dmca means bad things for decrypting encrypted roms, or dumping roms with obvious copy-protection mechanisms. also, distributing copyrighted content is obviously illegal...

    Pandora Logo?

personally i like the thinner type for tech stuff, but i could see where it's not always practical. i think though that kagato's type is not really too thin, definitely usable for most things.

    Pandora Logo?

i like it as well. i'm worried that it's too similar to the sgi logo though. edit: on second thought, i gave it another look and it's pretty different after all.
