Psx4gp2x Beta Testers Thread

Pandemonium at 285Mhz
Around 7-11fps usually about 8fps

Underclocking doesn't seem to improve the fps, but results in the game becoming jerky, although the fps counter stays the same (?)

Hardware scaling improves the fps by about 1, although it does seem to run alot smoother...
With Progressive On things come to a halt regularly, but the counter still shows the same fps.

At 250Mhz, the framerate drops.. by just 1!

Is the Auto-Frameskip in the PSX Emu intergrated?

I feel my FF7 in the battle is 50%-75% slower than the orginial

Frameskip is the only option for this emulator because of the lack of speed. However, even frameskipping doesn't work yet anyway....

Yep, you should set your psx clock to 33mhz in battle, and then turn it low again when the battle is over. usually i play at ~20mhz most of the time outside a battle, runs real cool.

gp32_console Must say Iam well impressed by this software! Seeing as i dont have any 2D games to make ISO's i was forced to test with 3D games. So here is my results..

Cool boarders (ntsc)
overcloacking the GP2X at 280mhz
PSX CPU 33mhz
Vsinc 41 , Framerate 12ms ingame (playable even at this speed :) )
Framerate 43ms in menus
underclocking did nothing but slow the controls down to un-useable.(reaction to stick movements)

RageRacer (ntsc jap)
overclocking the GP2X at 280mhz
PSX CPU at 33mhz
Vsinc 23, Framerate 8~11ms ingame

I was wondering if you could make use of the gp2x's second CPU to emulate the sound? Iam sure you have looked into this before but I just havent seen anyone talk about it.

Keep up the awsome work !

Im having probs ripping FFII i used ultraiso and then pocket iso 2.0, but for some reason it wont work with full iso or compressed with pocket iso, im sure ive had this working before with the old psx emu though any ideas? :)

I'm a bit tired, it would be really nice if NOT programers stop telling programers what and how to do.

Unai.

Firstly the thread says "all welcome", and secondly we are all human beings and all part of the same community, stop being so elitist and pompous.

Not really but if zottd and me spend time telling how things work and what are we doing in this thread the least I would expect is people to read the previous post and not beeing allways with the same things.
