Firmware Is Out

I find ( with any firmware ) that boot times vary from between 15 & 40 seconds. I wonder if this has anything to do with the way the system is shut down. i.e. your in a game and u just switch off as apposed to returning to the main menu and switching off.

I'll have to break out the serial cable and do a bit of logging methinks.

Successfully updated, AT last movies are now working again.

Boot times about 40 seconds from flicking the switch, no longer but not any time shorter then usual.

Im having trouble writing a script to Over Clock my gp2x and go directly into the game (seems to be what you have to do in 1.4). How do I accomplish this? It seems that my version of CPU LCD tweaker exits back to the menu regardless of the script you put it in.

Checked the dev wiki nothing seems to be there about it yet. :(

Any help would be great. :)

I was afraid of this being the case in the new firmware, since they drop the clockspeed for the menus. We need a CLI for tweaking the speed of the CPU so we can add it to the beginning of scripts. Should be an easy write for whoever knows how to tweak the cpu speed.

OKay I've tried upgrading from 1.2.1 and got to the Firmware upgrading screen. The green screen says I have a 1.4.0 firmware but when I go into Settings there is no LCD tweaker and wif I go to Info it says my firmware is 1.2.1. Can someone explain what's happening?

you may want to run the patch for the updated files too.
then settings will say 1.4.0.

edit: meh, one sec too late ;-)

You need to run the patch from the Utilities menu. It should be something like patch[loads of numbers].gpu.

Thanks. First upgrade I've done!

I did write a translation for them, but they have not used it. I don't know why. You know it is just one person at gamepark causing all this shit. But i'll say no more.

edit: spelling

You've loaded the patch correctly but havent flashed properly yet. Try copying the IMG file back onto the root and turn on, Funnily mine didnt read the img file until I loaded the patch.

By the way, after all this source hullabaloo (don't deny it's hullabalooity), is there any sign of a source for this FW?

don't forget: If you don't like this update, you can always go back to any previous version using the debricking guide...

No offence mate but that is wayyyyy to complicated for me. Im pretty clued up on most things but running scripts for every emualor is just isnt my thing.

I guess ill wait to see if someone comes up with something, untill then ill stick the gp2x in my drawer.
