Uae4all Amiga Emulator Port To Gp2x

Hi,

Just to let you know that I'll be away in Morocco until the 10th, so if I don't reply here for a while I'm not ignoring anyone, just off having fun.

I see (after some testing) that this emulator only emulates a 512KB Amiga.
Any chance of adding 1MB support? Some games need this for extra features such as music etc, and there are some that are 1MB only too.

Sorry if this has been asked before (can't be bothered reading through 37 pages).

Great emu by the way, most games are great @ 266mHz.

Er actually it emulates a 1mb chip amiga.
Quite so. Which games were failing? I can test them and let you know why...

btw, I'm going to put in some work on cyclone again next week, as my girlfriend's away for a couple of days.

Morocco was absolutely wonderful - highly recommended (especially if you speak French)

More testing. Sorry yes, I see now it emulates an ECS KS1.3 Amiga with 1MB RAM. That's definitely the best setup.

It's just that, in Last Ninja 2, I don't get any music on the GP2X, only sound effects. Yet on WinUAE I'm getting full music in 1MB emulation (and sound effects only with 512KB).

Not a life threatening problem sure, just a bloody annoyance, as the music is really cool.

In WinUAE I don't hear any music if I've set it up for 1MB chip RAM. If I set it up for 512K chip and 512K slow, then I get music. So there you go - it needs 512K of non-chip RAM to play music in the Last Ninja 2.

Sorry for the double-post, but on a different subject, has anyone got any examples of games that are difficult to control with the current joystick scheme? I don't mean things that people want a new mapping with X for UP, or things like that, but cases like this one:

I hadn't noticed the issue myself particularly, and I'm having a bit of trouble convincing myself that it's fixed in my local build by moving to using DaveC's case 2. I can control Rick Dangerous 2 fine with the existing release, for example. Any suggestions for games to test?

It emulates a KS 3.1 Amiga too if you replace the kick.rom file :) It can fully run the workbench 3.1 and music (OctaMED), text (Kindworks) and graphic programs (Deluxe Paint 3+4) ... tested them all and is great fun, especially DPaint :)

EDIT: Finally got SuperCars 2 to run, the "Super Cars II (1991)(Gremlin)[cr HP][f AGA]" found on the web seems to be the only one that doesn't crash after the logo screens, but it's slooow @266 MHZ w/o sound.
Still cool!! My favey amiga racing game

To avoid the hang during the loading screens, you need to have sound ON (at least on the version I tried).

Whilst playing the game itself, I find the following settings work pretty well:

Emu bias: Full CHIP (you don't see that very often!)
Frameskip: 2
Overclock: 250
Sound: off

That should provide the smoothest ride for now, I think (although a 266 overclock obviously wouldn't hurt).

Starting to bang my head against the wall now. Many many kickstarts, many many roms and still can't get anything beyond the disk and hand screen.
Even tried a 3.1 kick and WB - no go.

Help?

Ignore me. Fixed and been playing. Uridium 2 rocks!

hey critical!

any progress/success on integrating the cyclone core?

greetings

I am afraid it doesn't look good for GP2X users. It appears like he has left for the gizmondo  :(

His SNES emu sounds better than what we have too. Too bad about the small giz screen or i would be tempted too.

Oh, for fuck's sake Dave, will you cut with the reactionary crap? You also said the same thing about Squidge... Critical was on earlier TODAY..

Allan.

EDIT: Apologies to all, I just get a little frustrated with DaveC freaking out over nothing all the time. Sorry for hijacking the thread, Critical - carry on with your good self. :)
