yep its different.the 0.4.2 worked,this version hangsup with a black screen.. :p

however, isn't strange that captain blood hangs on that screen even if i haven't tinkered with the optino?do i have to overclock the emu?
Oh dear. I've had a couple of other reports saying that, so I'll roll back to 0.4.2 for now. It seems to work for some people, and not others. I'll investigate tomorrow.

Couple thoughts ...

1) DMS support? I have 6 CDs packed full of stuff in DMS I'd love to throw down.
2) 266mhz clock speed on the list? 250 is too slow and I can't do 275 :)

Update the Wiki Generator to 0.4.5 ...

1) Doesn't seem unreasonable
2) Likewise

However, I'm concerned that I might have screwed things up for versions > 0.4.2 at present. Shane, are you using 0.4.5? Are you on the 1.4 firmware? oddbot's fast boot? Solstar - same question to you.

yes i'm using the 1.4 firmware...

I'm using the CramFSv3 built on 1.4 firmware and I'm friggin' DELIGHTED at performance - no issues.

Using 0.4.5...

DMS support is a horrible waste of time... Things could be done to improve actual emulation instead of wasting criticals time with requests for features like this.

Are you using theoddbot's fast boot for 1.4? If so, is it version 003 or 004?

neither of them since i don't use any fastboot,my gp2x is always booted in 10 seconds

It's not high on my list of things to do, but it's on there now. I spent some time yesterday trying to improve graphics performance, and I'll do some more of that today.

Right now I'm concerned about the black-screening on firmware 1.4. Has anyone apart from Solstar tried to run uae4all 0.4.3/0.4.5 on the 1.4 firmware WITHOUT using oddbot's fast boot? If so, did it work?

Using 1.4.0 firmware WITHOUT oddbot's fastboot and I'm still sucking at ProjectX. Working with no problems for me, with or without sound, faked or not :)

I believe I'm using 0.4.5 of UAE4All, as I had to rebuild my SD card a couple of nights ago.

If you've got the "faked" option for sound, then you're running 0.4.5.

This is all very mysterious... it's not just Solstar that's having trouble, though. I wish I could reproduce it :(

Black screen on startup using 1.4.0 firmware:

I noticed in a squidgesnes thread that someone was getting a problem with squidge's emu. Some bright spark came up with a workaround of running Clonekeen before starting the emulator, which seems to be working for some people at least.

The thread's here:

http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?showtopic=26067&st=30#

I don't really know what's wrong with it at the moment, and I haven't had any time to investigate. I'd be grateful if someone (Solstar?) could try this workaround and report back.

Also, could you please try installing 0.4.2, making sure it works, then just copying the uae4all.gpe file from 0.4.5 over the top of the 0.4.2 one?

Do you have uae4all installed in any particular folder other than /mnt/sd/uae4all?

I'm at a bit of a loss.

workaround?so i have to try squidgenes and clonekken?ok i'll do it in minutes.however, yes for now i have installed both uaeforall 0.4.2 and 0.4.5 obviously in different directories.the 0.4.2 dir i've called it "uaeforall2"just because i already knew that it worked despite the dir's name.for the 0.4.5 version.i've left the default dir, just in case

/mnt/sd/uae4all?
WHAT?i simply put it in the rootdirectory, just like the 0.4.2 version!so i have to create this path?

ok i've tried everything;first i've played wih keen for a bit, then run gp2xuae...nothing  .then i've tried to copy the .gpe file of the 0.4.5 version over the 0.4.2...nope. <_< i've doubled checked every path...nada...

I had the problem of getting a black screen starting uae after upgrading to 1.4.0. Tried different version of the emulator, always the same problem. Downloaded the source, compiled it myself, and it works fine.

The toolchain I used to build with was this one:
http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?showtopic=25692&hl=

You can try my compiled uae here if you want: http://darq.net/~kaneda/uae.zip

Did 0.4.2 fail for you too, then? Solstar said he had that working ok.

It's great that a recompile with a later toolchain works.

Please could Solstar and/or nakeda try this gpe:

http://www.vividvillage.com/0.4.5-rebuild-test.zip

I need to know whether this works for you or not as soon as possible...

I believe the ones I had problems with were 0.4.3 and 0.4.5.

Yes, that now works fine for me.
