Gpx2 Unvailed!!

I think we all just need to basically stop talking about this until it gets released in a few months or craig gives us another update, as it seems clear that no one knows whats actually happening - not even GPH themselves !

On the other hand, this could become the first thread to get over a thousand replies

there are so so many threads now spread between the general and news forums on the one subject things are becoming confusing and messy. Lets hope that no more new topics are made unnecessarily.

So this is going to have 64MB RAM now?

That would be damn good. Many NeoGeo MVS/AES games could be loaded into that amount, like Samsho2, 3 and 4, Mslug 1,2,X and KoF up to 97. Not sure if larger games could be done, but they wouldn't fit in RAM at once.

I really hope Craig is right about the GPX2's power despite the 200Mhz CPU. Craig's done a lot of great stuff as we all know, but I sorta recall him exaggerating things a little sometimes on his GP32 ads. ;) Hopefully he's not exaggerating about the GPX2.

Heh, I was just going to post that link! Damn. :)

Well that's sure good news. 64MB is a very reasonable amount of RAM, a lot can be done with that. 128MB would be even better but that would really be pushing the price up so 64MB it is.

Now what remains is performance. Is the 200Mhz going to be a bottleneck for emulation, or is Craig right about the sum of the parts being greater than we realize.

Time will tell.

they mentioned today that the mouldings are already made now so the design must be finalised.

great news about the extra ram - a big power to the people result!

just found this on the korean site

Who Are Making These!
Well gpx2.co.uk belongs to Craigix, and gpx2.org belongs to Mike Dawson (gpfrodo, gplink). All it takes is a simple whois lookup, or in this case a bit of common sense (gpx2.co.uk is linked from gbax.com and gpx2.org is full of Mike's software).
