Gpx2 Unvailed!!

Was 64 Meg CONFIRMED or just considered. The last time I heard it was being considered, but nothing definite.

Now all it needs are two fire buttons under the joystick and it will be perfect

I will be checking on the raw boot feature to see if we can avoid this linux OS situation.

what does that mean?

Just a layman's opinion here but it sounds like it can boot up without the Linux OS to spare some of the memory that people say it hogs.

doesn't it also need to run at a MUCH higher speed than 200mhz ;)
you were so against this system at the beginning!

Ah let him be, I dont think I've seen him mention mhz in a single post today... and even if he did constantly trying to ride him about it helps no one.

Remove Linux Completely or optional switch to Raw? or default to Raw? Whats he wanting asking for.

Why not just ask it to get out the way!

Will it or will it not have linux, I want to know what do they mean by linux just the kernel or what!

:D raw my ass

according to davec, he has already written off the 3 systems he has mentioned above.

please make up your mind as it seems to change as much as the weather.

I'm going to have to stick up for Dave C here. He says in capitals BUT which to me says he's still not convinced that this system will runs SNES etc at full speed. He's not the only one to think that either.

I would love to be proved wrong but I still see this as a GP32 replacement rather than an upgrade.

Its definetley an upgrade anyway, and a good one, and a cheap one. Not a replacement and I'm happy. I'm glad people are now talking about what it can do. Obviously their are no definates, but realistically this chip has some special features over the old one. Its not a Mhz race. The two things that are certain. is the new chip is more likely to achieve this goal, and DaveC and I have no Idea what we are talking about.

DaveC says some really outragous things. He does change his mind like the weather, although in this instance its very forgiveable the only people with any kinds of hands on experience are in Korea. He's making his most informed descision about a relatively unknown device. On listening to people have other opinions, or who are more informed.

Yeah but I know this isn't going to happen this late in development. GPH seems totally set on this speed. It will likely be a problem getting Neo Geo to run full speed, but it is better than what we have now.

i think neogeo CD and perhaps also some normal neogeo games will run (those which fit into the ram) remember, we have a really fast ARM 68k core which will be great for this system. also we have 2D acceleration + much more ram. Neogeo will be as good as on the Dreamcast, if not even better.

32mb is all the ram we are going to get according to the reposnse i had to the query i posted this morning:

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry in our product.
we have confimed using 32MB.

Best regards,

Unless he means that they have only confirmed 32mb but may still be considering 64mb. Who knows? GPH has given inaccurate info once already, we'll just have to wait and see.

Maybe Craig can convince them to go with 64mb when he pays them a visit soon. :)

i can't wait for that video Craig said he'll take once he's down there!

in the FAQ they still say that they still consider taking 64MB, strange..
