Gpx2 Unvailed!!

Indeed I'd be interested in hearing what's being said so far... that is unless they're clueless people calling it a "gameboy"

As for the system I think we can all say it's going to have a plastic screen, a glass screen would be prone to breakage during shipping and no one wants that. But I'm also certain it'll be a digital stick rather than an analog as it can't possibly serve any purpose on a portable system other than to make game play more difficult.

On a home system you can sit still in one place and not worry about falling off a ledge to a overly sensitive analog, with a portable you could be on a train or in a car and every bump will travel right through you to the controls making it a frustrating affair.

EDIT:
Cool I can't wait to see what new information you come back with Craig!

Sorry about the second post but it is forum flooting fault. I will translate it directly so there might be some mistakes.

Title: Gamepark GPX2- media player and game console in one

Gamepark announced their new media player with opportunities for a game console. It uses ARM920T processor and the graphic chip is the mighty ARM940T. The RAM is 32MB but the space left for the user is bouble 64MB. The expansion of the flash memory is possible with the SD slot. The entire hardware is controlled successfully by Linux OS. GPX2 reads the following media formats: MPEG, MPEG4, Dvix 3.11/4x/5x, XVID, WMV,JPG, BMP, PCX, GIF, MP3,OGG и WMA. When you watch video or play games you will be very imressed by the color TFT screen with QVGA resolution and diagonal 3.5 inches. GPX2 is powered by 2AA batteries which last 8 hours watching video and almost double more listening audio. Its size is: 143.6x82.9x34.

So, we're at nearly 60 pages; how about a sticky with the first post updated with EVERYTHING we know so far (And maybe even a short speculation section at the end)? With everything new we find out, just edit the first post; as much as I am interested in a new GP, 58 pages is a lot to go through (Especially when you know a lot of them will be "X feature sucks!" "Y feature is going to rock"; but then the new info could be mixed into these posts).

exactly what i was thinkin, only looked here about 2 times with not much time left and seriously i cant follow u dudes anymore...

Don't worry about the 200mhz cpu speed, there is more to it than meets the eye. Just try to bear with me on this one and check out the performace when released.

Indeed. It has become pretty dull to hear DaveC "as if this will run on 200Mhz!" repeatedly when that is a gross oversimplification.

Hello, ok, i'll try to clear up a few things:

As far as I know its digital.

I'm going to Korea this month to see the system in its final design. The system should launch with emulators available. I'm taking my video camera.

I will be checking on the raw boot feature to see if we can avoid this linux OS situation.

I have a few more things to discuss with them, I am well aware of all the little bugs in the design and exactly what we want from this system.

I will do everything in my power to make it what we want.

Go git 'em Craig. We are pulling for you. You know what we want, Don't let them do something dumb. If they need to delay it a couple of months so be it. When it is finally released at least it will be perfect.

Well I can safely say no N64, PSX, 3DO, Jaguar, Dreamcast, Sega 32X or Saturn, will be emulated on it as some here have thought. I don't care how good the GFX chip is.

BUT

If it can pull off good SNES, GBA, NeoGeo, and everything else under those I will be very happy with the system.

according to davec, he has already written off the 3 systems he has mentioned above.

please make up your mind as it seems to change as much as the weather.

Who says it does not have glass screen? :p And I'm believing the stick is digital.

The stick LOOKS digital. But those are just computer renders though. Analog sticks require a larger throw distance than what it shows on the fake render. They usually have a spherical shape at their base which the one in the pic does not. Also knowing GPH and how they like to re-use previous parts (the screen is the same one that is in the BLU+) The stick is probably the same exact design that we have.

Lets hope.

how ever thought that the next gp32 will do N64, Saturn, Dreamcast or something like that, is just crazy...
I thought about fullsped SNES, GBA, Neogeo + playable Amiga etc and perhaps PSX. And except one or two of those, i will be happy

I agree on those other systems, but you seem to have claimed in the past "Zodiac is only 200Mhz and so is the GPx2, so it's unlikely we will even have fast SNES", which I think is an unfair accusation given we don't know the true speed of this yet.

edit: I also agree that it looks digital, which is what I am basing my opinion on.

i really thought the new gp will do psone emulation.
but dont looks so.

Well, gp32 had ok snes emulation abilities, so it seems that the only advantage in emulation and something is gba emulation?

:/

I wished that there were a 3d-accelerator.

And no build in wireless, for internet connection and stuff.

Admin: you say the pad is digital but the FAQ says is analogue:

Q. Will the D-Pad be analogue?
A. Yes (Post 280)

Is it correct?

A:sorry. must be mistaken .^_^
