We experienced the world's loudest clap of thunder where I live last night. Peony absolutely dreads thunder so was shaking in fear. I managed to calm her down somewhat and luckily she seems to be pretty much back to her usual self this morning.

Update: She's been messing with my hair, playfully asked me whether I was drunk, and requested something sweet to eat. So she's back to normal again. :)

I'm 5 minutes in and do not understand a thing.

BTS (Korean: 방탄소년단; RR: Bangtan Sonyeondan), also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a seven-member South Korean boy band
US BTS ARMY is the first USA fanbase and non-profit organization working to support & share the latest news + info about BTS with fellow ARMY!

They raise money to put people out of prison?
...was donated to "Bailouts for those arrested for protesting police brutality,"...

The guy being interviewed says: Indoctrinate them young, when they are 7 years old! Interesting.... are you sure this you know what this psychological ideas are all about? Watch Kpop... and the satanic trend in videoclips is very in-your-face...

Yeah, BANG TAN BOYS! /sarcasm (his speech is riddled with hidden meaning... he knows his phychology. What I'm saying is that this interview is poison to the mind)

So, continuing from what I was saying in the COVID-19 thread, I talked to a doctor about the numbness in my left foot, and they decided to schedule a nerve induction test.

Without even googling that, it sounds painful.

Wally told me to get off Discord and do something productive. Isn't really working out. I deleted the font I keep around for game making, but I don't feel like redrawing it yet.

I mean, I still have to decide on a crappy retro resolution for my game first. Latest version of the font was 10 by 15 pixels per character, because I was planning on going with 320 by 180 pixel resolution, 20 by 15 pixel background tiles, and 20 by 30 pixel sprites. That would've put 16 by 12 background tiles on screen at a time, for reference. I mean, it was my way of trying to get that classic 4:3 feel while filling Pyra's 16:9 screen.

I dunno if I really need to fill the screen though. I mean, I just hate widescreen for 2D games in general. It makes sense for side-scrollers, where your view is supposed to be longer left-right than up-down, but for top-down games like the ones I'll probably make, it makes absolutely no sense at all. Also, widescreen has completely killed digital pinball, but hopefully VR can revive it.

This post is about to get too long, but may I just note simpler ratios are more pleasing than larger ones? That's what music is based on, for Pete's sake. I think that's also why 16:10 is becoming more popular than 16:9, because it's secretly 8:5. Really, I'd think we'd all be happiest at 1:1 though. It's technically the most efficient use of space.
Post automatically merged:

One thing I will give widescreen credit for, it allows more text on screen.

That said, I don't think it's optimal even for text. I mean, there must be a reason all books are portrait. Ancient civilizations were probably destroyed by wide books with too much text.

Gameboy Advance was 3:2. Might not be a coincidence that it's the only retro system I keep around.

Man, I'm starting to derail the thread though. If I have any further updates, I'll post them elsewhere.

As a photographer, I have a penchant for 3:2, but maybe that's just me.
We are hardwired to find the ratio 1.6 to 1 as beautiful. This ratio is called Φ

So 1.6 to 1, double both: 3.2 to 2, which is close to 3:2

Identity is a social construct. If you live all alone in the wilderness with no contact with the outside world, you can hardly have an identity.
