Preorders Have Started. (Previously named starts in two hours)

I hate to bring it up, but cellular networks can easily triangulate your position based on signal strength from cell towers and track your location using that data. :tinfoil:
The police have used this data to check out the alibis of suspects.
As long as it's possible to deactivate the chip easily (which was written here somewhere), I'm good.

Long time lurker here, since the early days of Pandora. I'm impressed with the way this project is being handled and the product just looks amazing, so I figured it was time to get off the fence and dive in. Just pulled the trigger on a U.S. Mobile Edition 4Gb. Awesome job to everyone working on this, i'm giddy with excitement.

There's even an Electrical Switch so you don't have to rely on the CSS Firmware that the Modem is really off and not Transmitting anything AFAIK.

Are you sure about that? The last update I read (a long time ago), ED was saying that there will be no hardware switch but he will instead wire a led so that you can know if the chip is on.

I think that is what he means, turning on a GPIO to switch on the cell modem is essentially an electrical switch I suppose.

Smartphones have systemd? Which ones? How do you know, that's what the recipient's got? (EDIT: Discard that question - I misread the above as "than your smartphone".) Or did I get that wrong and the Pyra will ship with Devuan?

Doesn't "100% more than" mean "twice as much as"? Does this imply smartphones have 50% systemd?

how so? give me maths?

Edit: Well honestly any percentage from 0 is still 0. So it's not 100% and it's not 50% either. The 100% thing is more of a marketing gag. It's supposed to be funny.

You need probable cause/warrant or a safety exemption. I directed ocean search and rescue and could only access that info if the person was confirmed overdue and believed to be in distress based on the totality of the circumstances.

We used pretty cool modeling and statistics to determine the most effective search patterns and highest likelihood of location.

Percentages are a ratio of 1/100, they're applied multiplicatively. 100% of something is 100/100, so 1. 100% more than something means "add 100%", so a ratio of 2:1, or 200%. We're comparing some value x, and stating that value y is x+100%, so y=x+100%x=200%x=2x, therefore x=y/2=50%y.

okay, so if x=0 to represent smartphones with systemd, now apply your fancy math. Also I edited my last comment.

You need to stop. You're making a Poe out of @TrashyMG

Sorry, didn't mean to spoil fun (didn't get it, was rather irritated). I guess my English needs some fine tuning then.

I read over the tech/info on the Pyra and I was surprised to learn what the Pyra has:

1. 32GB internal storage (Had no idea there was going to be internal storage)
2. All the ports on the back of the Pyra. (Totally assumed there would be like 2 ports back there)
3. MicroSDXC-Card-Slot (I thought the only memory card slots were the SD cards
4. Four shoulder buttons (Totally thought there was only 2 shoulder buttons)

The GPU will not be able to be upgraded right?
