@rSI That's one powerful picture.

it's always good to show the truth, but sometimes one don't want to get trigger'd, so i put the image in a spoiler tag with a trigger warning.

@rSI Police gently escorts back somebody who skipped the pre-order queue?
He also had no idea that he was ARMed. The picture was shot at the moment he was being dis-armed.

For me, the biggest absurdity on the whole Hambacher Forest thing is that Germany wants to make an Exit from the Coal , in maybe 5 Years, but they want to open a new brown coal mine on the Hambacher Forest..

Dit someone meantied the "Hoverboard" on the French Military Parade for the 14th Juli Yesterday ??
I would say: Screw this Lame E-Scooters in Germany that are now became legal, and give me such a Board ^^

Came across this...

https://slate.com/technology/2019/0...t-hurt.html?via=gdpr-consent&via=gdpr-consent

“Trigger warnings just don’t help,” Payton Jones, a clinical psychology doctoral student at Harvard, tweeted alongside a preprint of his new paper. He further explained that the paper actually suggests that trigger warnings might even be harmful.

Darnit, pmprog, you've just triggered my fear of trigger warnings being unhelpful.

This is just one guy's paper though. I'll wait for more supporting research to come out before dancing on trigger warnings' graves.

Of course, don't take it as definitive. But let me trigger you some more...

lalala... nothing to see here move along... oh! wait! there is a TRIGGER WARNING! ... cool, lets read it! :D

somehow i'm not into trigger warnings for text too. but for some graphic images/video footage i feel it is not such a bad thing.
personally i'm verry sick of state/facist/police brutallity these days, so i'm happy when viewing a video on let's say twitter, that i now beforehand that it will get voilent.

maybe you know this too... there is this dilemma from wanting to be informed unfiltered, to get the truth (whatever this is), to make informed decisions based on that.
but when there is going on too much negative things, it will drag one down and that is not a good thing imo.
so there is this small line to get the balance right. don't look away, be emphatic, be human and try to help the best you can.
when you are too overwhelmed by negative things, one is just too depressed to act.
so there is this need to look a little bit on the bright side of life, sometimes... <3

Man, I've insulated myself from news so well that I didn't even hear about what happened in the US this Saturday until Monday morning. Um, maybe not something to be proud of. Or is it? Can't tell these days.

I mean, following this stuff is kinda useless for people not directly involved. Just raises your blood pressure. I guess since this is a democracy though, we have to stay informed so we'll know which way to vote.
[doublepost=1565007357,1565006097][/doublepost]I wanna be a little more honest. I see that a lot of people on Twitter are attributing this violence to Trump, but I've always seem him as more of a symptom than a cause. Fortunately, he's also a fad, that'll pass in either one year or five. Then we'll have some new dead horse to beat.

well one thing is having a dead horse for president, who merely stinks up the place. Regarding Donald Duck, he's more the kind of dead horse that spreads plague in the local village, which poisons the well of all neighbouring cities, while blaming them for being a dead horse in the first place. And potentially starting a few wars that other dead horses have to clean up afterwards... sort of like that famous quote about Boris Johnson, John Oliver used in his latest video: Working for these people is like “walking a few feet behind a horse, shoveling its shit.”
