Hello, I've got a couple of ideas - one is a simple work around for the minor issue of some emulators like the spectrum emulator not starting up, and the other is just a feature I think could be quite handy! Ok, first I'll start with the work around, would it be possible to create a link that exits to the original wiz menu, but automatically creates an autostart file that launches the emulator immediately? Since we know the emulator works using the original menu this could work quite well, even if it takes a few seconds to load it would still be faster than me browsing through the original gp2x wiz launcher. Of course, when Win2x starts up again it could automatically check then delete the autostart file so it wouldn't start up anything the next time you go to the original menu. If it sounds complicated, here's the 3 step's I'm suggesting:
1-When creating a link to the emulator in Win2x (ZX Spectrum for example) there could be some information saved that lets it know it has to be run from the original Wiz menu.
2-When clicking on the link to start the emulator, Win2x saves an autostart file before exiting to wiz menu (original wiz menu would have autorun enabled)
3-When win2x next loads up it checks if an autostart file exists and if so deletes it (so it wont load the emulator every time the original wiz menu is started)
Ok, I know it's not a permenant solution, and it's very much like the sort of half arsed solutions I'm famous for among my friends but it would be a nice work around till the problem is finally solved.
My other idea should be a lot simpler to understand and hopefully implement (if you want to) I notice that some software uses higher contrast schemes than others and I'd like to be able to set a brightness level for individual programs, the same way we can set the clock speed (which is great, I can run frodo at 175mhz without frame skip). I'd like to set the brightness for reader2x to high for example, and the brightness for frodo to medium.
Ok, there's my latest 2 ideas, I'm sure I'll come up with more soon! Obviously if you think they are crap or not worth the hassle just ignore them, I'm sure if I just keep throwing ideas around I'll eventually have a good one
Good work on the latest win2x, it's so much improved from the original. It's a pleasure following the fast paced development of this front end, like watching a child growing up in only a few months.
