Did you read this text on that link?

Tons of games in their original boxes. They had all kinds of consoles as well. There were Nintendo DS's just sitting out on a shelf unprotected.

Wouldn't last a day.

...That is why :)

I have a friend that lives there.  She used to be into some older games, so maybe I can get her to swing by and get some goodies before stainy clears the place out.  I am also looking forward to the report.  stainy, please get us some more pictures and prices.

mhhh... reasonably priced games... this is awesome! Also it will encourage kids to try out some of the older stuff and maybe buy classic games for a decent price instead of getting ripped off on ebay.

EDIT: Stainy, if you see an earthbound for snes in whatever cosmetic condition, I will pay up to 100$ plus shipping :D

still looking for a cart and nowadays people pay/ask waaaaaaay too much. It's not THAT rare.

In my experience many of the somewhat expensive games are not rare, but popular.  Take Pokemon.  This was and remains an extremely popular franchise.  My best guess is a couple people were willing to pay a bit more for them than they were worth, so everyone started selling or buying it for a higher price and it stuck.  I think Zelda games are the same way.  These are games that you can always find, yet they sell for more than less popular games that are less common.  Earthbound is stuck in that area in between, since so many people want it, yet it isn't highly available.  I agree the asking price is often silly, and I wonder how many of the people who own a copy actually play it.
