Upgrade to IPB4

I hope they stick to the schedule and you have time to upgrade the board again. The editor is currently "subpar", to say the least

There is also an issue whit emoticon shortcuts in tapatalk,

Per exemple the new newspost looks a bit whyrd for me...

It isnt a good Board whitout the viagra spam threadts :)

BTW: In case you are interested what improvements the next version of IPB will have regarding the text editor:
https://community.invisionpower.com/blogs/entry/9739-ips-community-suite-41-editor-update/

Can't see anything useful there, doesn't even mention bbcode / post source editing ("code plugin with syntax highlighting" sounds like another not-so-useful WYSIWYG feature),
At least it'll let you move quotes now, which should provide a workaround to my issue of deleting the blank line after a quote and then being unable to type outside the quote.

Although perhaps not, on consideration, as it's not possible to insert anything before a quote at present (unless you type it first then quote the post I guess - but that involves far too much scrolling for my likes).

Edit: And the return of the 'quote this' option (this time without needing a plugin) is something a number of people should be looking forward to (myself included if editing quotes remains so slow and unresponsive on my machine).

Well, Tapatalk is Tapatalk... they have their own plugins for the various forum software.
Not much I can fix here.

Using some of the suggestions above:

Neat. Do you have it in an open format so I can create the needed graphics from it? :)

I am inserting this line after adding the quote by going to the top and clicking the red return square on the dotted line that appears.

While messing with quotes did have a bit of a learning curve I do find them to be ok.  The blank line still bugs me, and sometimes trying to get the dotted line thingy to pop up is irritating, as is trying to delete nested quotes that you don't need.  I don't think there is a way to easily work with quotes without a mouse, and I would rather keep my hands on the keyboard when working with text.

Ooh, good spot!

Works at the end too if you delete that line accidentally.

SONY, I guess since these boards no longer support BBCode officially, trying to use BBCode tags will result in undefined behaviour at best.

I should say though, I thought we were meant to have an image button so we could embed them using the GUI, but looking now I can't see it.

Ah, you have to use the insert bow below then click on the + symbol after you've attached the file to put it in your post.  You can do similar with URLs using the 'Insert other media' box.  It's slower than using BBCode for that particular use case, but more flexible for other image use cases.

It does mean you end up uploading all your random cat gifs and the likes, so hopefully there's a better way to do that if you need to.

Edit: If you 'Insert image from URL' inside 'Insert other media' it doesn't seem to upload it, and doesn't seem to use any of your quota.

I still can't edit/delete quotes in a propper way and there is still no preview option. I want a plain, simple BB code editor back, its so much better and works since ages.
And the performance is still bad, try to move the cursor in the editor window or mark a big chunk of text, your Pandora will basicly freeze... -_-
