The Pandora Port Request Thread

Just to make it clear  we mean that Counter-Strike's source code was never released (and likely never will be) so it can't be run on Pandora.

On the other hand, id has been releasing its game engine's source codes for years. So, it IS possible that Urban Terror could run on the Pandora at some point. Quake III (OpenArena) is already running on Pandora, so I don't think Urban Terror should be that far off. Urban Terror shares a lot of similarities with Counter Strike, so you may like it.

Pinmame and or Visual PinMAME ,i loved messing with both these on the pc ,they look and sound bloody amazing tho i have never saw a port of these emulators for anything ,pc only as far as i can see but the source is available so with loads of tables emulated we could have the best pinball experience possible ,better than the best pinball games currently out there to buy.

I don't know if emulator requests should be included here but done.

On the other hand, with an inevitable Source (that is, the Half Life 2 engine) Linux binary, the odds of a Linux ARM port becomes just a little closer to reality. Not a lot closer, but a little. I'd say it's no longer an impossible thing, just really, really unlikely.

DROD and XMoto.

DROD is an amazing adventure/puzzle game, probably the best ever. There is an old one which is open-source and free, and a more recent one which is open-source and with commercial content. I made a GP2X version some years ago, I am not sure I will have time to make a Pandora version. The only problem with this port is that is designed for a given, static resolution (1024x768 for the new one, 800x600 for the old one).

XMoto is a great little physics based game plateform/biking game. It is based on OpenGL (I made a thread recently about that), but it seems to be very basic openGL to me. Basically just rotating textured polygons. So using a OpenGL/OpenGL ES wrapper could hopefully work, and rewritting it to OpenGL ES should not be to hard.

1. Privateer: ASCII Sector. Not Open Source but freeware; somebody has to inform Chris Knudsen to go ARM, a Linux version exists already.
2. A game like Harpoon 3 *drool*.

I just have to add that I would love to see TwinEngine for the Little Big Adventure games ported, it appears to be in active development still (recent commits including this month). Looks to be LBA2 as well which is awesome, since LBA1 can potentially be played through the Playstation emulator.

This'll wet your appetite http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gZg7tWx5Zc

Loved those games. Would love to play them again on a Pandora. :)

closer, but still not good. Different CPU types, plus it probably uses x86 only libraries (such as OpenGL, we only have OpenGLES). The parts that rely on x86 libraries would need to be rewritten and then it needs to be recompiled for an ARM processor, but the fact that a Linux version already makes it a much easier port than if it was Windows (in theory, generalizing and oversimplifying)
