FWIW, when you drink a radiocontrast fluid like a suspension of barium sulfate, the radiocontrast agent is not radioactive. The radio waves come from the CT machine (which is mostly used these days), which emits x-rays which are a form of ionising radiation. So once you leave the machine or the machine is turned off, you're no longer being bombarded with radiation.At least I don’t have a Thrombose and they where able to diagnose this whiteout making a CT (where I would have to Drink 1,5 l of radioactive contrast fluid)
